I had my first appointment with my new Doctor that I have been referred to. I was referred to this Doctor because the Doctor who did my SI joint surgery back in 2016 thought I had torn rotator muscles but the Radiologist that read my hip MRI said that I have FAI and a torn labrum. I thought that a torn Labrum and FAI condition would mean an automatic hip replacement at my age (67) because they don’t like to do FAI/Labrum repair on older patients. However the Doctor wants to do more test before we make any decisions on how to treat my problem. It seems that my hip does not have much arthritis in it for my age and that my symptoms do not fit the normal criteria. So the plan is to give me a pain shot under fluoroscope on 08/07/20 in my hip and see if all the pain I am having goes away. If all the pain goes away then we will consider hip replacement, if the pain does not go away then we will look for the cause. I am 99.9% certain that the pain is coming from the hip but all I can do is follow the plan for now.
