To top it off, both knees have delighed me with this jumpy muscle spasm thing..I don't have "restless" legs except on rare occasions...this feels like its tendons, or muscles or whatevers that just set up a regular spasm effect that goes on for hours! I kill it with ice or just get up and tear around the house..until I seem to wear it out!

I like the calcium and magnesium...will try. Do have painpills at the ready..and think getting up and walking is good too. I'm just so tired..sorta bump into walls..and yea, knees are stiff as boards anytime I settle for long...so ok, I won't obsess about sleeping off and on during the night! Thank you!

Well,thank heavens for that! It's probably due to your poor body going through such trauma! You seem to have it under control, (:)0)

I had the same problem for a while. Getting up and walking around the house (we used to call ourselves the Night Stalkers) or riding my exercise bike helped. I also found that using a heating pad on my lower back worked too. At least then I could be in bed instead of stalking. You might give that a try.

Ahhhhhhhhh Jamie,
I can just see you in my minds eye stalking around the house packing power tools!!!! LOL LMHO

I remember many times walking around the house at night...and when I would lay down my legs would jump good grief sometimes I thought I would hit myself in the head..lol...They would jump high alot.......Then just laying there they wanted to go go go and I was tired but they had that creepy crawly feeling. I would rock them back and forth nothing worked,...ugh.........I do have restless legs and I take requip at night never have that problem anymore. Couldnt stand that anymore it would keep me up all night long and even walking around the house didnt help....Just a thought maybe speak with your Dr....if its really getting to you......That medicine is amazing.......)

Yep, any burglars would have been petrified out of their minds from fear from my impact driver.

I am having this restless leg problem now, at 6 weeks. I have been up for 2 nights in a row...going out of my mind. I remember having what we used to call 'growing pains' growing up.

Does anyone know if taking Requip is ok. Is it over-the-counter? The only med I am on now is hydrocodone and aspirin/advil/aleve. I will be going to PT tomorrow at my Dr's office so I can ask. I have tried ice, elevation, changing chairs, changing beds, changing positions, excercising and crying.

Thanks.

I believe someone also once said that they had a small glass of tonic water last thing at night and that helped. The quinine, you see - very good for spasms and such.

Bet a little gin wouldn't hurt either!!!:blush::hehe:
:wink:

Requip is a prescription medication. But before you go that route, try putting a heating pad on the small of your back when you go to bed. Be sure and take a pain pill at bedtime too to help you sleep. You can also take Benedril with your pain meds...they tend to make you sleepy also.

There is a natural product that I have had great success with called Hyland's Restful Legs. You can buy it in the health food section of the grocery stores or ask the pharmacy in the drug store. It works fast and I can go right back to sleep. I keep it on the night stand now.:thmb:
