So sorry to hear that, Pattipoo, weather has been beautiful up here---'70's and sunny---this weekend the bottom is supposed to drop out and they are talkin' the "S" word (weatherwise) for next Tuesday.

Lotta **** goin' 'round here too---but i haven't gottin' yet.

I can just tell you that I was in a very similiar situation. This guy who I trusted said he'd put in a du Puy rotating platform but if you do that computer alignment stuff it added about .5 hour to the surgery so except for really bum cases it didn't matter.
Then I read this article that the major contributing factor for joint failure was misalignment. The other thing I read was that basic knees would return 90% of functionality and all the things like rotating platform... was playing in the last 10%.
(And you've got to consider we've probably been operating on knees in the 60% functionality range before surgery). So basically any prosthesis is good if it is installed
right. When I read all of that I picked the surgeon with the best track record I could find. He put in the standard Stryker model with computer alignment. I'll let you know in
10 years if I made the right decision.

OHHHHHH....guys I need LOVE in the Tar Heel State! Big Nasty Snotty Cold!

Sorry to hear you have a nasty cold there Patti. Here are some get better soon (((((((HUGS))))))). Sue

How y'all doin' in the Tarheel State?

Hey Patti--
Sorry to hear about your cold---- but you won't believe what they have at the middle school where I teach in the afternoon-- a "Tar Heel Club"! No idea what they do in that club....

I vamoose as soon as possible on Wednesdays. The "Safe Dating" club meets in my classroom. A whole bunch of 12-14 year old boys eating pizza, then gonna talk "dating". I don't even wanna know.... You should see how fast I can pack my bags and get out of that room! LOL!

As Jasper Carrott once said, to get a safe date, you need to chat up the people coming out of the Blood Donar clinics!! (The UK people will know the comedian I mean.)

Which club would you like to speak to--- Safe Dating or Tar Heels? LOL!

I know a place you could stay while you are here! We could go wine tasting!

Patti, so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I'm sending you a big (((HUG)))) and hope that your snarkles are short-lived.

Patti, dollin shuga baby girl, I'm sorry to her you're feelin bad. Can I come up and rub some Vicks Vapor rub on for ya? I just feel like I should do something to help.............

Gat- that reminds me of my mom..... that's what should would always do when I was a child and sick with a cold.....

My mom and my wife will jump on you with that vicks..Rub it under my nose...I hate it.

12-14 year olds worrying about safe dating? Times have sure changed..Safe dating for me was at 16 yoa. getting the girl home to her retired Green Beret father on time. Being late wasn't a pleasant option.

Yes, listening to these boys talk about their dating experience is certainly interesting....not always sure what they mean by some of it. When my son was in middle school I found out he was "going out" with some girl and asked him about it. "going out" meant they were sitting together at lunchtime. I was so relieved... the "mom-line" told me she was a very high maintenance girl and not good DIL material.... LOL!

HOWEVER-- this is the middle school that hit the national news not long ago about the boys who got arrested and charged with being sex offenders for imitating some movie and slapping some girls on the butt and allegedly touching theirs breasts. Threw two 12 year olds in jail and charged them with sex abuse and labeled them as sex offenders with mandatory lifetime registration....

IMO it got a big out of hand.... so i guess they saw a need for a "safe dating" class at that school!

Well, Beach....these days I guess any dialog about this stuff is a good thing. Kids are so far advanced with all they are exposed to at such an early age. I just hate it, but I don't see things changing anytime soon and going back to those "good old days" like Doug described. And our parents thought things were crazy back then!! Ha!! Can't hold a candle to the parental worries of today! I remember that story about the boys in middle school and from everything I read, it did seem excessive to jail the boys and have them be marked for life as a sex offender. It's just not the same thing to me as some letch who preys on children. I don't see why people can't remember how many stupid things THEY did at that age. Oops....gotta watch out....I'll get on my soap box again.

Beach, dating still means the same thing..My son is on his second week of "dating". Of course my wife, Momzilla, stays right on top of things. We took them to the movies last Friday night. I told them I wanted to see both of their heads 1 foot apart at all times or I would embarrass the with my official 25,000 candle power police flashlight...Didn't have a bit of problems.

I'll bet not! I am betting he KNOWS you are not kidding! LOL!

My son got his little 12 year old heart broken and she "ruined" him for years! He was always pretty shy and he was very cautious after that. Fine by me.... Had a couple of "near misses" in early high school and ended up taking a friend of his best friend's girlfriend to his senior prom. Worked for me!

It got a little dicier after he left for college. He came back to live at home the next summer to work... I will NEVER forget walking down the hall toward his closed bedroom door early one morning and finding a pair of bejeweled flip flips parked outside his door!

We had a talk.....never saw those flip-flops again.

Now he is 22 and in an exclusive relationship with a girl I like very much. They have no serious plans-- just living in the moment. I expect him to take off and "see the world" when he finishes his program of study at the end of summer. Not sure if she is planning on going with him or not. He doesn't seem too concerned about it!

Ahhhhh.... youth....
