My therapist set me up for this chair called the biodex. As she was inputing my range of flexion and other information required, the machine started to move and bent my knee well beyond what my numbers had been the previous two times I was on the machine. I was strapped in the chair and some how jumped up screaming with pain. I ended up hitting the emergency stop button all the while the therapist was next to me crying and apologizing.
How does the Biodex compare with just a regular CPM machine?
Have you considered using a CPM at home for six hours a day, every day with gentle passive motion?

The date of surgery was June 3, 2022 and this was performed on my right knee. Thank you all for the advice and recommendations. I am currently waiting for approval from the DOL for rehab from a new facility. Needless to say, I am so nervous about even going to therapy now after the incident. Not knowing if the new therapists philosophy is the “no pain no gain” theory and just wondering if they will attempt to be ultra aggressive due to in the last couple of therapists viewpoint of my flexion level being way behind schedule. Thank you all again.
It sounds like you've been having a terrible time and you have my sympathy. What I do when I go to physical therapy is I take my son with me just in case I need backup with the physical therapist. After reading the Bonesmart recommendations I am very determined to not let a physical therapist do anything to me that hurts me, and you should be too! It's your knee, they're not the ones who have to live with the pain. And never let them put you in a machine that moves you by itself again!

I was doing badly at 7 weeks too. I hate to even think about it and the mind mercifully forgets. It's been a year now and every month things have gotten better.

Only, I feel guilty that I pushed for the surgeries earlier than I really needed but did not want to wait too long, either, simply because the recovery period is so brutal.

Hang in there!
