Hi,

My surgery for TKR is a week from today.....my question is....do I need to have my ID with me, plus insurance cards, and any cash while in the re-hab.

Trying to get everything in order for a few days in hospital, then a week in a re-hab.

And of course, any other suggestions are welcomed, some of you have already helped a lot.

Thanks and good luck to anyone going thru this. craftylady

We will be praying for you and watching to hear about it all and how you are doing.
My re-hab was a day in the hospital just on a different floor. So, I did not have to do anything, was just wheeled to the new local.
Hopefully others will have some info. I would call the rehab location and ask all your questions

I do not know which re-hab I will be at until after I am in the hospital, when I will be assigned a social worker because of medicare....so just wanted to have things in place for my sons to quickly find and bring when needed.

Thanks...will update and try to help others once this is behind me. Does take a been there , done that, to fully understand.

It also takes a good memory to help others!!! I once went to the hospital without anything but my book. Forgot they still wanted it all (insurance, ID) even though you have been to a pre-op apt with it all!!!!
Actually this last time, you can skip admissions on the day of surgery, they tell you to just go up to the surgery dept!!!

Well then I would just havae it all ready for your sons. I had to have my husband bring a few things in , fortunately I knew exactly where I had left them.
Do you have a good supply of stool softeners to counteract the pain meds??

I will be thinking about you. I did all sorts of things in the days before that I thought I would not be doing ever again as it would be too much impact, but I forgot to jump rope!!!!

Stay calm it will be ok and you will be so happy when it is healed and the pain is gone

Good Morning, Crafty!
Since each re-hab is different, I would suggest you call your facility! You should make copies of your I'd cards and any important documentation!
No jewelry,,,,but you should wear an inexpensive watch! I'd just bring a nominal amount of cash,,,,to buy a newspaper or to use a vending machine! :)
