PT was a blast today...ha ha ha!!! Was in a hurry to get there, running behind a little and forgot to take a pain pill. That's the only time I've been taking anything...one hour before PT. So I get there and Joseph says " I sure hope you are ready...I've got new things for you to do today!" Oh my gosh!!! He killed me !!!! He measured at the beginning then at the end. Through all the torture today I gained 8 more degrees in one hour on both knees!!! I am so excited!!! And the funny thing is, the pain was only there during the PT. After I got home I had no pain.:wahey: He had me get on to my stomach and bend my knees up one at a time with my ankles hanging over the edge. I got so excited because I love being on my belly!!!! So I said this means I can start sleeping on my belly...right? Wrong...not yet! Anyways, just wanted to post and let everybody know how I'm doing.

Have a gorgeous day...it's raining here...we need it though.

Great report, Cindy!!! Do remember those pain pills, though. Also, you may hurt later....go ahead and ice and maybe even take some type of pain med just to be sure you don't get swelling after the exercise.

Cindy,
You are unbelieveable!!!!! I just can't believe how well you are doing!!1 I am so green eyed right now!!!!

Cindy YEAH for you. Again--- I watch your progress because it has helped me SO much. Both of your knees are doing great--I am so proud of you!

I must brag too---One week post surgery My PT has measured me at 110---and that was before I did lots more exercises. The big news--he put me on the exercise bike to rock back and forth and WOW---I could pedal all the way around for 5 minutes without much pain. He said I was phenomenal---he got a laugh because I guess my face showed total shock. Of course this pm I had a nap because I felt a little tired after lunch. Anyway I'm happy!!!

So----- WAY TO GO CINDY--you're an inspiration to me. Nancy

Jamie,
The first thing I did when I got home was put peas on my knees. I do that every time after PT or after exercising. I don't really see much swelling but want to keep it that way. It's now 7 hours after PT and I still have no pain...should I take a pain pill before I exercise tonight? I usually don't but since I forgot one before PT, I'm not sure what to do.

Thank-you!

Is it a narcotic type pain pill? If so, I suggest taking it before you go to bed. Since you've not needed it before for nighttime exercises, you shouldn't need it now. They really only last about 4 hours. But given all you've done today, it might ensure you get a really good night's sleep...which is VERY important.

If it's an anti-inflammant like Aleve or Advil, I would go ahead and take it at least an hour before you do any additional exercise. That should ensure that you stay pain and swelling free.

Congratulations, hon! You are doing SO WELL!!!! Great report!!

Linda2,
How about something like:

Got no tears in my beer, but I got peas on my knees, BoneSmart people...we aim to please! :hehe:

It's been a long long day...I need to give it up!

Everybody, have a beautiful Tuesday!
