Jo - I am a bit confused myself. Will Let you know as soon as I find out. Do you think I should start another thread to try and find out how many people have had patella button installed. I really thought it was a complete system but apparently not.
That might be interesting. Start a thread with a poll. Simple yes, no or I don't know.

I saw Dr. today. The good news is I do have a patella button. I have a Depuy rotating platform complete system. Bad news is no explanation as to why my knee started to hurt. Dr. has me getting a bone scan and will see what happens from there. Possibly like was mentioned I was to aggressive with the seat height on the bike. Actualy today it feels alot better basically just swollen a little bit. Seems that is usually the case. By the time you get to see the Dr. you are usually feeling better. I will give update soon as I find out anything.

Well, that's a relief! Sorry I started you on that road. My bad!

But our wonderful nurse Josephine always tell us it's better to be safe than sorry!!!! Right, Jo?? (:)0)?

ExJock,

Don't know if it's too late, but have you obtained a copy of your surgical report from the hospital records? I was able to get one around 4 months out and kept it for my records. It contains everything that was done during surgery. To get this, just contact hospital records and request a copy, then go in and sign the release form. Pretty simple really and it will answer all your original questions. Also handy to have for second opinion if necessary. I just like to be informed on what was done and keep in my files for future reference.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Jo I think I was the one confused. But yes it is good that I have all the necessary parts. Just waiting to get bone scan to make sure they are not coming loose.

Sounds like a good idea to get hospital records. I will give it a try although it has been almost 14 months.

Re: Problem - Bone Scan Results

Well I saw Dr. yesterday to review my bone scan> First thing he asked me is if I had fallen on knee which I hadn't. He sad my knee cap was "hot" on scan. He also sad that I had a bone spur at the bottom side of knee cap near where patella tendon attaches. He said bone spur was not apparent on any previous x-rays. He said that he did not think there was anything wrong with replacement and that it is not unusual for people to have spurs. He said to continue my exercising without the low seat biking and to see him again in 6 months. Pain has pretty much subside so I wil just have to wait I guess.
