This is my family on a Med cruise we took in 2006. It is our 3 daughters and their husbands and 5 grandchildren and of course me and my hubby.
Also a picture of me before and after gastric bypass surgery. The one before is John and me at Smokey Mountains and the picture after is in my living room in 2006

Beautiful family and you look fabulous!!! My backdoor neighbor had a gastric bypass and we had the most fun watching her melt away!! (sadly, she's gaining it back SO quickly!!)

Great pictures!!!

Patti,
Thanks for the compliment unfortunately that does happen to a lot of bypass patients and I think it's because they assume the surgery will do everything for them but it doesn't. If you don't change your mindset then you have a major problem brewing. They bypassed 5 feet of my intestines so that means for the rest of my life I will malabsorb nutrients as well as calories but as far as your new pouch of a stomach it can stretch depending on how much and how often you eat. It breaks my heart to see people regain after such a serious operation. I feel like God has given me a gift and since the bypass surgery you couldn't keep me down even if I was in pain from my knees. So when I had the knee surgery it was like being 350 pounds again and I thought what the heck did I do? I know that given ample time everything will be better than it ever was but boy do I hate to wait.

You look incredible, Cathy. What an accomplishment. YOu have such a great attitude and approach. I'm sure you'll be running around in no time. I still have 40 pounds to lose and then I'll be able to get around so much easier. God bless!

Wow, Cathy. You have come so far!!! You are right that attitude is everything and it sounds like you've got it right. I hope your recovery is smooth so you can take that new body out for some fun!!!

See here we have some more of those beautiful family pix that gets me excited for grand kids when the time is right. Cathy, good hard work, enjoy the results!

Yes, never let it go, Kath. I lost 6½ stones (90lbs) many, many years ago using the old WW progamme. Can't find any befores but here are a couple of afters in 1981 ...

Jo I have a feeling you and I would be best friends if we lived closer. I think we kind of look alike maybe it's the short hair. Oh what the heck lets be best friends anyway and the next time John & I get to England we will get together for dinner and drinks.
And thank you to all of you that had such kind words for my pictures I so enjoy the weight loss but it will be tons better once I recover from this stupid tree trunk of a leg.
I see the beautiful cherry blossom trees in Washington DC and would love to go visit my nephews now and walk amoung them but I guess I will have to wait till next year for that fun.

Josephine, you look like your a great hugger too. I know you do a great job of hugging us through our trials. Your heart is as big as your smile.

Every picture posted makes me that much more determined that we should have a reunion!! I need some real hugs!

I'm with you, Josephine. One time I hugged a guy I had just fired. We had a good cry together and then off he went. It's a southern thang here, too.

I love to hug too, which in the South of England isn't as common as in the North if I remember. Of course I have lived here in Canada for the past 17 years where everyone hugs each other!!
