Hi Everyone,
I've just joined after reading posts from others. I had THR on 26/07/08. I am using elbow crutches and still experiencing pain in my back and thigh in my operated leg. Two nights ago I was coming down stairs at home and placed the crutch too close to the front of the step and it slid off causing a jolt to my operated leg. Since then I have increased pain in my leg and also the wound. The backpain is also increased and I wonder if this is caused by me walking differently since the surgery or not. I have suffered backpain pre-op and hoped it would settle after the op but now wonder if this is a seperate problem. can anyone help please?
Regards,
Gina

Since you had a jolt, it would be a good idea for you to see the doctor. I do have some back and thigh muscular aches if I have been walking a lot. My surgery was 6/16/08, so that is getting a little better each day.

Three weeks down the line - I thinks it's a bit of both. You are still tender from the op and now you have given everything a gee-up from the trip. Thing is, when you have an experience like that, you tense up all over and that acts like a kind of electric shock to all the muscles. It's natural they will ache after. It will pass in time. Take some pain killers to ease it and just rest a bit more.

If you are worried, then do go see your GP but I'm fairly confident that you've nothing to worry about. It will pass eventually.
