Yeah, I played hooky today. I was supposed to go in for a 1/2 day no-student "work day" but could hardly get out of bed so just didn't go. If they say anything they can charge me with a sick day. I'm sure sick of hurting--- that's for sure!

Beach, aren't we SO glad we don't have to get up for work in the morning???? I got up late two mornings this week. I HATE to wake up late and try to bathe and dress in a nervous panic!! Since it's already after 1am and I'm nowhere near sleepy....I'm sure I'll be sleeping late.

That was a long time ago in a Galaxy far far away.
I was standing on top of a 60' rappelling tower in that one.
I used to love rappelling. Now I don't like heights. Must be an aging thing.

Computer battery is low again.... I'm gonna sign off for tonight.

Sleep well y'all!

Catch up with tomorrow.

Sorry I missed you guys.....It's 2 a.m. and now I'M UP!!! Dang knee pain. Wish I knew how long it would be before I will be able to sleep through the night. The doc had no idea when I asked yesterday. Oh well, at least they renewed my pills, so I know I can take those every 4 hours if needed. Only problem is tonight I woke up after just THREE. Sigh.....late night computer time comes again. At least it's not the "restless leg" syndrome that requires me to put on my Night Stalker cape and haunt the halls up and down.

By the way, Doug.......LOVED the "young Dougie" photo and your story about seeing rock stars way back when. When I was in college at Central Missouri State University (in dinky Warrensburg, Missouri) we had dances in the gym at various times that featured big name bands. I can't remember all of them, but I do recall dancing right up by the stage to Frankie Vallie and the 4 Seasons, the Beach Boys, and Paul Revere and the Raiders. I cannot imagine how bad a booking agent they must have had to end up out in the middle of farm country like that. Every time I hear oldies by those guys I remember those evenings when my boyfriend and I were dancing in our socks. You know it had to be Sock Hops because your street shoes would mar the finish on the basketball court. I can also remember going back out to leave and trying to find your shoes among the HUNDREDS on the floor in the lobby! I was always stupid enough to wear my best shoes and then worry I wouldn't get them back. But it was the Midwest and they were always there. Man, today your Reeboks would be history if they were at all nice.

I'm blathering now.....bored......gonna check out a few more threads......sleep tight, guys.

- now that's what I call EYE CANDY!!

Thanks Jo,
My candy has gotten a little stale over the years............Started to say wilted but Patti would have jumped on that.

My mother had that picture.
That uniform had double zippers that ran from the throat, down both legs and stopped at the ankles. The theory was so that if we caught on fire we could get out of them quickly..The bad thing was, we had to wear the vest with other equipment.....It never failed..We would suit up, get ready to go, and someone would have to pee!!!

Dang, I missed the party. I took two pain meds and was so high I couldn't think. Went to bed and slept great until 8 am, now I'm up and ready to clean house. Then I'll take my shower and shave my legs. When you are as young as I am, the hair grows SO fast!

Patti, you have no shame, girl! I guess I better get on here more often and keep an eye on ya'll. Doug's scar looks way nicer than mine. And I loved the young SWAT officer. Girls love guys in uniforms... unless it has a fast food emblem on it! Now, I'm off to finish cleaning house!

Jamie, I remember the big name bands coming - Temptations, Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, Allman Brothers, etc. but we didn't dance to them. Mostly folks were stoned and we just listened to the music and grooved with it. Then I started the concerts at big stadiums - Yes, the Who, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Joe Cocker, David Bowie... you name it! I wonder where I got the money? I don't even remember now. It was legal, Doug.

I just finished my cleaning....must have been pretty bad because I started YESTERDAY when I got home from work!!!

Yep....chick, you never know what you'll find when you leave us unattended!!

Have fun cleaning, HairySkeeter!

Skeet, since I lived in Miami in the late 60's and early 70's, I saw pretty much all of the great bands. Chicago did a free concert at the Jr. college I attended. The Who, Grand Funk,Led Zepplin,Sly, Hendrix in one of his last concerts. I know where I got my money but I darn sure won't mention it here.

I sold blood now and then. It was worth $15 right off campus.

Jenn,
You have one good looking monkey..I wish I could get mine to find a monkey with morals..

I was thinking the same thing. Me sitting here with my one cut...What a wimp.

I couldn't imagine handling two at a time during my initial recovery but now that I'm facing the second one, I'm really wishing I could have done them both at once and been done with it. This time I REALLY know what's ahead of me and so does my family. Hats off to the bilats!

You'll do well 1J@, you know what to do and where to blog.

Thanks Jenn. This is my time for mental preparation. We always second guess ourselves when it comes to doing something like this. My soon to be replaced knee was feeling good for about 10 days but now it's back to its old tricks and I don't like it. I was second guessing whether I really needed this one done but then bam! The pain went on vacay a few days but it sure is back now with a vengence! Funny thing is, the weather has been nice. At least my new knee is feeling pretty good!

Yeah, I kept saying, OK God I said I'll do it, it's all set up. can you give me a break on the pain? But he let the pain remain. guess he knew I might justify myself out of it.
