Klinger, Percoset is a name brand that is very popular here in the states (like Advil is to ibuprofen) it is actually oxycodone, it comes in different strengths, I take 5-325 apap
it is a narcotic and very addictive if abused. My dr only allowed me to take it for 2 weeks, today was my last day.
I took 2 of them every 4 hours. Plus oxydodone HCL CR 20 mg which is sort of like a time released form of the same drug, you take 1 every 12 hours.
After today I have been switched to Vicodin (again just a popular brand name) but is actually hydrocodone-apap 5-500.
If you look them up on line you will see other names the same drug is prescribed under.
I find the percocet stronger for the most part.
I take vicodin 2 every 4 hours as well.
Here in the states due to so much abuse at least in PA you know have to personally pick up a refill prescription from your doctor for percocet they are no longer by law permitted to call in a refill for you. However for the vicodin they can call it in. Neither one will allow refills on the bottle as many drugs do.
That's all I know. But if you google them you will be surprised of the info you will find. I did that in January when I had to start all this jazz.
Also with both you can absolutely have withdrawal symptoms, so when ready to reduce you must do so little by little. If not many people react differently, but you can get the shakes, sweats, you feel like you have the flu. Happened to me 3 times before I asked someone and figured it out. Of course had I read the insert with the meds completely I may have known this.
