Hi On March 26th I had a patellofemoral replacement with mosaicplasty / osteochandral autograph transfer (OATS).

My knee seems to be doing great (little stiffness and swelling yet) but overall feels good but the last three weeks I've had this serious pain my foot! It seriously feels like a charlie horse all day long in it and I can barely walk!! The pain is right on the top/middle of the foot. I try rubbing, stretching it and nothing is helping!

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I didn't do anything to it (fall, drop anything on it, etc.). I have been walking more since my knee feels good but nothing to much. I really hope it's not related to my knee surgery.

Thank you for your input.

Hello @jbonte and :welome: to the recovery side.

I'm sorry you now have foot pain.
While it could be associated with your knee replacement, I haven't heard of it being related, especially since your PKR was 6 months ago.

I think your first move should be to see your own doctor and let him/her have a look at your foot. Then, if he/she thinks it's necessary, go back to your surgeon.

I know it's been a while, but here is the recovery reading we give to everyone with a new knee:
Knee Recovery: The Guidelines
1. Don’t worry: Your body will heal all by itself. Relax, let it, don't try and hurry it, don’t worry about any symptoms now, they are almost certainly temporary
2. Control discomfort:
rest
elevate
ice
take your pain meds by prescription schedule (not when pain starts!)
don't overwork.
3. Do what you want to do BUT
a. If it hurts, don't do it and don't allow anyone - especially a physical therapist - to do it to you
b. If your leg swells more or gets stiffer in the 24 hours after doing it, don't do it again.
4. PT or exercise can be useful BUT take note of these
5. At week 4 and after you should follow this
6. Access to these pages on the website
