@patellafella, this is your very own recovery thread. I‘ve moved your post above out of the Monthly team thread. That thread is reserved for surgery date information. Having this monthly team thread allows members to see who else has surgery in the same month as they did. All other comments and discussions should take place in a pre-op or recovery thread, such as this one. Enjoy interacting with and learning from others who are on the same journey as you are, here in this thread. If you would like a different title for your thread, just let us know and we'll be more than happy to change it for you.

Please tell us all about your knee surgeries, the dates, and which knee it was.

I’m sorry to read your X-rays show a patella fracture, and that the surgeon is not interested in treating it.

have had second opinions
How many second opinions have you had? Were they connected to your surgeon?

In a case like this it is best to go a distance away from the original surgeon, for a second opinion, so you get an unbiased opinion. I would try a surgeon in a big city, it could be worth the drive, to do that. Most surgeons have more than one office, so if they have a city location, they probably also have one outside the city that would be easier to get to.

What is your pain level now and how is your ROM?

I also have a Patellofemoral replacement and mine has never been right, either. It’s been 6 years for me. Thankfully, mine is manageable, my ROM is decent, and my pain level also manageable. I’ve learned that with this kind of partial, we need a surgeon who has lots of experience doing them. I strongly suspect mine did not.
