I am needing partial knee surgery in a few months and I am not sure what to expect as far as recovery time ie getting back to normal active life that I had a long time ago. Will there be any restrictions for life time. Someone who has had this surgery please let me know.

I encountered a gentleman who had partial knee replacement. He was in my office without a cane and able to drive and navigate well and even to kneel(not because I require kneeling!) and generally with little pain 3 weeks post op! His 1st week was "lost" to pain and pain meds but after that he went through the PT and is doing well. I was amazed! Scar looked good too!

Partial or unicompartmental knees are so much less invasive than total knees. Since there is so much less soft tissue division the recovery is much quicker and less complicated and the complications also less. I wish you well in your surgery.
