I was doing squats in PT today and felt a pop in my groin (no joint movement or anything) and now how this intense pain when I move my leg in certain ways (walking stairs being one). PT says it's connected to my sciatic joint problem. I'm using ice but need this to clear up so I can go to PT and the gym. Any thoughts?

Debs, I moved you post into a thead of its own because your question was a totally new one and though very similar to the other thread, you asked a direct question. Moving it means you won't derail Rebecca's thread and you'll also get answers of your own.

To address your question, from your description I'm not convinced it's related to a SI joint problem. It might be as simple as a bit of air moving but I'd get it checked out by your OS in any case.

I would call the os to can you take motrin or something some times that works better for me then pain med s just a try....i hope you feel better take it easy ...........) please keep us posted.............

It's better than yesterday and the ice seems to be helping. I have a feeling it's just a strained muscle or ligament and ice and rest will help. I don't even need any pain medication and if I did I would use Aleve. I think I also may be exercising too much and, for course, I went back to work. Thanx to all!

I think your doing the right thing back off exercise a lil take motrin.aleeve and rest see if feels better is not yes please call the OS it would make you feel better......hang in there.............)

So many ppl excercise too much thinking "more is better" - and then find it's not! In fact, it sets you back. Other eager beavers take note.

It is hard to ice a groin- I finga popsicle in a bag works best unless you have a tubular mold you can make ice with, just my 2 cents

i cant imagine u r doing squats becoz that creates more pressure on artificial joint. Better take a second opinion before doing squats.

It was squats against the wall with the big ball but no more squats for me! I'm feeling much better and the pain is almost gone. It was hard getting in and out of the car but good now. I rested some and when I did work out I was very careful not to push to much. I go to PT tomorrow so I'll talk more about it with him but it seems I did all the right things. I'm still hesitant so I won't push it but have to do it.

Well, that's good, Debbie. Patience is good! :thmb:

I finally called the doctor since the pain seems to be a point of pressure in the middle of my scar above the hip bone and radiates slightly into my groin and upper thigh. He said it could be bursitis and I should take 2 Advil 3X a day, ice the area and see him next Thursday. Hopefully this is something that will go away quickly and won't need any kind of aspiration or antibiotics!

I hope so too, Deb!! Please let us know how you get along.
