I began to experience some pain at the sight of my left hip replacement today. Its similar to what i had before surgery.
Is that normal? Thanks for the input

Creblue....it is possible to have pain after your surgery. Can you be a little more specific about what you're feeling? What brings it on? Or is it a pain when you touch part of your leg?

its apain at the joint. JUst like prior to the surgery. I probably have been over doing it today, so that may be the cause

Ummmm...yes......overdoing it will give you pain when you are fairly new to recovery. Be sure and take it easy for a day or two when you do push too hard. We all do it, so don't feel like the Lone Ranger!

You know, all your muscles and ligaments in there are still getting acquainted with their new partner - Ms. Bionic Hip. So it makes sense that you get odd aches and pain now and then as they get used to each other.

Try an over-the-counter pain reliever for a bit until it subsides.

Hey Cre, Im not a hip but Im sure others will help you....I hope you feel better soon....Good Luck to you ...I do think 8 weeks is still early and maybe take it a lil easier...Still use ice and your medicine.....Be careful.......:)

Hi Creblue, I can sympathise - a couple of weeks ago I had some what I would call strong discomfort deep in the joint. Strangely enough I had never actually had pain in the joint before my op, it had all been down my leg and in my back so this was a new concept to me.

Like you I had been a bit too eager with doing things during the day, so decided I had overdone things. Rested up well the next day and all was fine again. It does ache a bit from time to time, but as the others had said there are a whole load of muscles and nerves mending in there so it will be something that will happen for quite a while.

I am sure you are doing really well - keep it up, but make sure you get plenty of rest too.
