Re: pain and swelling at 8 days

mikro, I moved your post here for two reasons - first it will be better in a thread of its own as you will get responses specific to your problem and second because this was in the pre-op forum and is now in the recovery forum.

As for your pain and swelling, that does happen but there are some things you can do to help. You could put a cold pack on the swelling, elevate the leg and also make sure you are taking enough pain meds. Sounds like you still need them even at 3 months.

What are you doing in the way of exercise? Have you overdone that? Have you been for long walks, shopping and such? Who was the 'he' you told about this? Your doctor or the surgeon?

Joshphine Thank you very much for puting me where i belong first time user. Today I saw Surgeon today and he said I have some tendonitis in my quad. To me that makes sence beacuse no pain in the knee. Told me to ice and ibbrofen 400 mg twice a day and says he thinks it will go away if not see him again. I have been so happy with this operation after the first month. But now im glad that it is soar and will work out, we'll see. I have never taken any pain pills after the first three weeks and hope do keep it up.Thank you again

Lots of people get tendonitis in various places and it does settle eventually. The doctor's advice is very sound. If it doesn't settle, try going back to your PT or to a chiropractor. Well applied massage and acu-pressure can work wonders!
