Hey @Layla i had my ct scan, mri and bone scan yesterday. Wow they took forever. I am so.sore tonight, laying in bed crying. Could hardly move today. Using a walking stick and thats not really helping. I wish my appoint with specialist was sooner so i can get my results. Its not for another 2 weeks.
Hope i get some answers. I cant keep going on like this.

Aww, I'm so sorry you're sad and suffering right now. My heart goes out to you.
It's unbelievable you have to wait that long for results. I wonder what would happen if you
called in a week trying to get results? What can it hurt? Worst case you don't get the results.
I pray you get some answers soon and a plan to move forward. It's awful you have to suffer so.
Sending a hug and hopes you're able to get some sound sleep tonight :console2:

@Layla Things are so different here in Aus. It’s almost impossible to get any result over the phone. Drs are so thingy about privacy issues that they rarely give phone results because you can’t prove you are who you say you are. I had to get special permission from my GP to phone for routine blood results and still I’ll often get a refusal by the Receptionists because it’s just not “the done thing”. You talk about PAs a lot, I don’t know what they are but assume it’s a non medical stand in for the Dr. I’m pretty sure they don’t exist here. If you see the OS privately, you WILL see the OS. If you see the OS through the public hospital system, you’ll either see the OS or their Registrar or their Resident..it WILL always be a medical doctor even if it’s a junior Dr. Public Hospitals don’t release any result without the patient seeing the Dr and then if you want copies of those results you quite often have to put in a request to the FOI Dept (called something else now) and they will determine if you can get the results. If they agree, you then pay a fee. So a Dr can tell you “there’s nothing much wrong” and you have to take their word for it but in my experience their “nothing much wrong” can actually be their opinion on a report that says there is a lot wrong. It depends on their perspective.

Condon, it’s frustrating and annoying and I hear you. Hopefully if there is something badly wrong, the Dr will contact you, if you hear nothing I’m afraid you will have to wait and hope the 2 weeks pass quickly.

    Good luck.

    Hi @Gidget and @Dondon
I can understand not giving test results over the phone to a point. You're right, Gidget, there is no guarantee results are being relayed to the right person. On the other hand, who'd want someone else's test results and why? Most people probably only share with close friends or loved ones that they are undergoing diagnostic testing. And it's hard to believe a friend or loved one would try getting test results that aren't theirs.

PA's are Physician Assistants, Gidget. They work under the supervision of the Orthopedic Surgeon. They see patients for the OS and assist in surgery.

I hope you're feeling better today Dondon and hope you're having a good week, Gidget.
Wishing you both a peaceful relaxing weekend!

    @Mojo333 @Layla
    Thank you so much.
I went to my appointment today. He showed me all my scans. So i am happy to say my hip is 100% fine. He said it has taken better that what he expected.
He believes the pain is xoming from my lower back. The scan showed i ahve arthritis through my spine and pointed at bones (dont know the name) near my pelvis and said there is arthritis there too.

    Thanks for the update @Dondon
What a relief to hear all is well with your hip. I'll bet that made your day.
I'm sorry your still in pain and learned the news about some arthritis in your back.
I hope you find the relief you need. Possibly with a focus on diet and some supplements you may be able to
keep the inflammation down to a minimum, lessening your pain. Something to research and consider.
Best wishes as you move forward. Stay in touch.
