That's a neat idea. Try it and let us know how you get on. I can just see you marching along to one of those army songs! You know the kind of thing ...

The animals went in two by two, hurrah! hurrah!
The animals went in two by two, hurrah! hurrah!
The animals went in two by two, the elephant and the kangaroo
And they all went into the ark, for to get out of the rain.

i had my 1st surgery on my left hip on 03-10-2009 and i had my 2nd surgery on my right hip on 04-14-2009. i have absolutley no pain what so ever from
my left hip and i am only 17 days out of the 2nd one but i can already tell that it is going to feel as good as the 1st one. as far as my activity level i can
already do things that i could never do before and it is amazing what a difference these 2 surgeries have made in my life. for anyone out there who may be scared about having this surgery done....just remember that in the long run this will be a truley life changing event for you and you will not regret it.

I'm so happy for you, Stewartfan!! Thanks for taking time to post your good news. We LOVE hearing from members who are doing well....it provides hope and an inspiration for those who might have concerns about the procedure.

Stewartfan,
You had your left hip done 1 day before my left hip, and I feel the same way now. No pain, and it's beginning to feel as natural as the other hip. My other hip didn't go yet, but it will in 1 to 10 years I'm told.....hopefully 10 or more.

Great going, Stewartfan! Doesn't get better than THAT! :)

I am having a "down" day today with a very achy leg. These comments helped--as usual. I am 7 1/2 weeks out and am just the opposite of Jo. ( our surgeries were only one day apart!) I sleep great a night- no Tylenol AR but need it every 8 -10 hours during the day. The more I am on my feet the worse the discomfort in my thigh and medial side of my leg. By evening I can barely get around. By the next morning I am good to go and spend my days doing stuff and then reclining with an ice pack and doing things again. Hopefully will be able to string together more time up and less time down sooner or later!

So sorry you are having a bad day. They do come and go like that sometimes! Sometimes without rhyme or reason! Pamper yourself and soon you'll be feeling better. Don't hesitate to take increased pain medication to alleviate that "ache." It is really low grade pain and it can make you feel miserable!
