I am a female over 65 and had surgury early Dec. Had a setback in right knee with tissue or scar tissue catching as I walk. The pain/catch moved to side of knee now. Painful to walk. Still lots of discomfort early evenings and nights. Good news is that the p.t. has gotten my left knee to 110 degrees and right knee to 130 ( which is above normal range) . Wondering if anyone has similar pain problems or catching issues. Does this really go away within 3-6 months? Surgeons, p.t. people, rehab docs are so vague. Had it done with the "best" in NYC.

LOL - almost every other surgeon I know (and I know lots!) tells his patients he's "the best". Anyway, I'm sure yours was but whether he was or not, all have the same kind of post op problems regardless.

The long and the short of it is that some people can go from 4 months to 18 and even more before they find themselves realising that their symptoms have receded. Sad fact that not many surgeons make much of which intrigues me. To get your 'informed consent' they're eager to give you info regarding post op infection and even anaesthetic complications but they don't tell their patients about this sort of thing!
