I was seen by my OS he did the following:

•Examined the hip
•Asked if I have difficulty getting in and out of a car; I told him it’s challenging getting in but not out and challenging getting out of bed on my right side
•Suggest having one more injection in the sacrum--this was the very painful
•Gave specific name of the doctor he wanting performing the injection
•Suggested having physical therapy by one of the PT that he holds in high regards
•He will speak to him/her regarding my progress
•Will proceed with surgery if the issues won’t resolve
•He is proceeding with caution
•He assured me everything would go pretty fast and he would perform a revision; he said this more than one; I guess it was the look on my face of how much more do I have to endure before the revision -22 months.

I asked about the bone spur. He said that was part of the arthritis and some surgeon do not remove all the spurs. He described the cysts the same and Jo but offered no other explanation.

This has been a painful week. I told the office manager, if this didn’t get better soon I was going to retire in early March. She cried and told me she didn’t want to be selfish but wanted me to do what was best for me. Her tears were because she knew of my plans of 11/3/11 was my retirement date and all I have gone through. It’s in God’s hands.

Happy Friday!

You have got to make an apt with a revision specialist. I still don't understand why there are bone spurs or cysts left. The cup should be all artificial.
Is it all clear to you?
I'm praying for you

Sometimes the spurs and cysts are in a place that won't impede the function of the hip. You can't get'm all!

Hi,
He is a revision specialist. His web page site he is the busiest in the area doing (re-do) as he call it. He didn't leave the spur there it was the other OS that I no longer go too. My concern should be what his approach to the cyst and bone spurs will be when he performs the revision. I am not concerned about what already there that needs to be redone in the first place. I am 100% comfortable with this doctor. I appreciate the fact he is not knife happy. I also trust Jo's opinion and she say you can't get them all.

Happy Friday!

Ms

Glad you are finding out and it looks like you are heading in the
right direction. I can not comment on the hip as I am a knee.
But I love your attitude the "Happy Friday" at the bottom of your post says it all.

To you may this be the beginning of a future of Happy Days.

You don't worry about how he's going to get at them - that's his problem. But he'll be able to access them through his normal incision. And in a situation like this, he'll most likely use the same approach as the other one did. Surgeons don't generally like making too many incisions into the same joint/area.

My bad memory MsSplenda. I thought this was your original surgeon. Ok all is good now.
Now I am very happy for you. You should really be on the road to recovery and have a good doctor on your side.
Have a great weekend.

MsSplenda, I think the schedule your new doctor laid out is sensible and I especially like that he said he would not waste time in between the options he will be trying before going in for a revision. He sounds like an excellent doctor. Glad you are in his hands (and God's, of course!).
