So here I am today wandering round the supermarket looking at all the Christmas goodies on display and it suddenly struck me that this time last year I was getting out of hospital after my op.

When I look back at the last year and and how far I have come, I am really pleased I had my op done. Last year I couldn't have walked for more than 10 minutes without having to stop. If I sat in the car for more than 20 minutes I couldn't get back out again. I stopped socialising because of the pain I was in.

Looking at me today - all I can say is I have my life back, there is no stopping me now.

That's wonderful to hear. Thank you for stopping by to tell us that!

So glad you decided to post this! Gives us who are waiting for surgery so much hope and encouragement that we have made the right decision. Thanks!:yay:

Fantastic @Crystal0wl - so happy you are in a great new place, rejoicing for you! Wonderful to hear how transformed your life is at one year on.

Great report, happy to hear you have your life back and can do all that you want.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I think if someone had told me how different my life would be, I would have been very sceptical. This forum and the people on it helped me so much in the early stages, so it's nice to give something back and maybe show that although it may not seem like it at the time, you are recovering every day.

@Crystal0wl congratulations on getting your life back! I think about this daily... how much better things are today. We truly live in a wonderful time of good joint replacements.. This forum is the absolute key to recovery, though... I am so grateful to this site. Happy Thanksgiving!

@Crystal0wl Happy Hippie Anniversary! Great update - thanks for stopping by!

It's good to hear from people enjoying post-op life.
:wowspring:
