Well I finally got to my appointment today. I was supposed to go Tuesday but got a third of the way there and headed back home as the roads were really slippery from the snow, so I cancelled and re-booked for today. My OS has always said if the weather is bad to call and reschedule.
So today I got up and the weather was lovely and sunny. Twenty minutes before I neede to leave I donned my winter coat, hat, scarf, gloves and boots and went out to the car armed with my lock de icer and when I was finally able to get into the car found the snow brush and cleaned off the car as the engine was trying it's hardest to heat the car up. My nose hairs were freezing as I breathed from the effort.
Got in the car and proceded to scrape the ice off the screen inside and managed to move it (the tires felt a bit frozen to the ground), backed up through the mounds of snow the snow ploughs had left and set off for the OS's office an hours drive away. The roads were wet but not too slippery today. I used a whole jug of windshield washer as it was a very mucky drive. The temperature by the way was minus 33C. (I am so fed up with winter now)
Anyway, my OS is still pleased with my knee and told me that out of 100 cases there are about 5 who have problems with swelling. (See I am "SPECIAL") He said my veins are probablystill not functioning normaly (think maybe he was telling me it's the extra weight they are having to cope with?) He mentioned really tight compression stockings but doesn't want to go that route yet. MUA is still a possibility but not yet. He wants me to wait. Said it could take 2 years for me. He also had x-ray done ans said it looks great. Said the clunking is sometimes the plastic knne cap on the metal.
I mentioned I want to get back to Aqua Fit now my shoulder has improved a bit and he agrees that is a good idea. Perhaps the cardio workouts might improve the situation Jo? Trouble is I have a problem getting to the pool by
8am in the winter!! I am a night owl and like to sleep in until 7.30-8am!!
Anyway, I go back to see him in 6 months unless I have any problems. At least that will be July, shorts and T-shirt weather yeah!!!
Anyway, sorry for venting about the winter I get like that from time to time, remember I am not a true Canadian, being English I am more used to rain!! The snow has been constant since Nov 15th and we still have until about April unless we get an early thaw!! Bet Marrianne doesn't complain as
