Hello Everyone. Today is my new hip's birthday. I am doing great and definitely one or "those" who ask why did I wait so long. I will be 58 this year & was hit by a car when I was 9 years old. As time passed the damage to my fractured hip caused early arthritis and gait problems. Now I have no limp & can do a few things I have not been able to do, basically my whole life. Recovery was a little long because my surgeon corrected my leg length so lots of stretching of muscles (which I am still working on the stretching). Well anyway just wanted to share my good fortune with others who will understand. Looks like the forum is still a great sharing place!
Thank you for letting me share!

MsSully, Thanks for checking in. At 8 months I am still hanging out here from time to time. Glad to hear you are progressing on your rehab to get function back. I am 56 and doing great but do find that because the muscles in my right (new) leg are so atrophied that it is taking time for flexibility to come back.

I will keep in mind the Teva sandals as this is the first summer in ages that I will feel comfortable wearing them

That's such great news, mssully! Happy Birthday!!! :)

Mssully.....it's always so heartwarming to hear a good story like yours. I'm so thankful that you took the time to post it. Please know that it will offer hope and comfort to someone out there who is thinking about surgery but just not sure if they should do it now.
