So, I'm finally home! I had my hip replaced last Monday and my knee replaced last Thursday (same side). Everything went very well, and I am anxious to get started on PT and bending. Still taking pain meds, but I feel like my incisions hurt more than the actual joints. I'll keep everyone posted on how the recovery is going. Thanks for all your support!!!

I'm still updating my blog, but it's getting there.

I have wondered about doing all on the same side together. Congrats on making it through. I am glad your pain level is tolerable. Cant' wait to read about you!!!
When I originally decided on my right hip replacement, I asked the surgeon if he could do both knees and both hips at the same time!!!

Hooray for you, BionicBoy!!! Sounds like you are doing very will with two surgeries under your belt. I'll be checking out your blog too.

Congratulations, Bionc Boy!
NOW you've really lived up to your name!:_

WOW Bionic Boy!
You are doing GREAT. We're so happy to know that you are home and beginning recovery! It can get so much better from here. Believe me, I KNOW how it feels to rehab a hip and knee. A lot of work and dedication, but it is so worth the effort. So Congratulations and hang in there and keep up the good work. ( don't forget to ice after PT sessions) Please keep us informed. We care!

Thanks for the support everyone. I'm two weeks out now and feel GREAT. I'll keep updating my blog and poking around here as well ;)

Ice is the key to knee happiness!

I still can't believe you had your hip and knee done at the same time!! You must be a "just do it" kinda guy! Fantastic!

^^

Yeah, that was pretty much my attitude. Since I'm still relatively young (31) I figured it would be best to get them both out of the way at the same time. A few hard weeks in exchange for 20 years of pain-free living. In the hospital I got a lot of "Why are you doing them both?!?" questions.

I'm 2.5 weeks out and I feel great!

Keep up the great work, Bionic Boy! And
I think its GREAT that you had both surgeries.....
So you'll have nothing to address now but
HEALING! Good luck to you! :)

I feel excellent. I'm getting around with a cane just fine, and I'm about 99% independent. Still taking some pain meds, but usually just for Physical Therapy. I'll hopefully be going back to work in a few weeks.
