Hey Lynn how's it going?

Hope your knee is still progressing.

Went to PT today and my ROM is now 0-126.

So I'm continuing to make progress albeit slower than I'd like.:frown:

Nancy says hello. Hope all is well w/you & Mike.

Big weekend ahead. Our son Eric's high school FB team plays the second round of HS playoffs at home in Spooner on Sat. afternoon against Somerset. Should be a good game. Eric's having an outstanding season both on offense & defense. We're very prould of him!:doggieshmooze:

What have U been up to? Still in your kettlebell class? Still riding your bike? How's work going?

Drop me a line and bring me up to speed on your progress.

All my best. JMB

Hey there!

Sat would work good for coffee. I was thinking of going and working out first thing in the morning. Are you? I can do coffee anytime, just let me know what works for you. Are you coming to kettlebell class Thursday :rolleyespink:. It was fun seeing Nancy there.

Let me know what time works for you.

Lynn

Nancy & I will be at the gym around 8:30 a.m. Sat. morning. See you there. Afterwards, we can go out for coffee & goodies at Alley Cats.:yes 4:

Sound like a plan?:ok:

Lemme know. JMB

See you guys at the gym. We will have to figure something else out for coffee. Alley cats closes at 2 today through till tuesday. Guess Robert thinks he needs a vacation!!

Hi everyone,
Just a quick update. I'm just shy of my 5 month mark. Went to see my OS yesterday as I still have some issues with burning under my knee cap and swelling and discomfort on the upper outerside of knee cap just above it. Anyway, he feels I do still have a bit of scar tissue and he said to let mother nature do her thing and going in arthoscopically will just cause more aggrevation to the knee. He said he feels by the one yr mark I will be very happy. Xrays looked great and he pushed, pulled and moved things around and said there is no loosening and I'm actually doing great. He did comment that I look like I favor my right knee (non surgery) knee and I put more wt on surgery knee now. I sent me back down for xrays and as you can see from the picture I have another screwed up knee. I told him the pain is probably just at the 5 mark where my other knee before surgery was a 10+. He said when he opened that knee up the backsid of knee cap and end of femor bone looked like ground beef. So, as long as I'm catching the right one early, he gave me a cortisone inj and said probably within the next year I should have a lateral release done. So, here is my left knee before surgery, current right knee and left knee after surgery, and how I know have a knee cap in correct postion!!!!

Looking good Lynn. I haven't been to PT since my ear surgery two weeks ago. I also think I may have missed a follow up w/my OS. Whoops. I plan to check on it next week.

Other than clicking sounds, my knee is doing pretty well. It does, however, get stiff & sore if I stand on hard surfaces for prolonged periods of time. Is that normal?

My BAHA implant surgery supposedly went well. But it sure looks like the ETN doc carved up a lot of my scalp behind my left ear to simply put a titanium screw in my head. What's more, I had to have it drained last friday b/c of a large hematoma behind the incision.

Went to deer camp w/a gauze wrap on my head. Wasn't that a hoot. NOT:hairpulling:

The wrap promptly fell off in my deer stand on Sat. morning. So I improvised a replacement w/a bandana for the balance of the weekend. Got my stitches out today. Doc says its healing even though it continues to drain out of the bottom of the incision. Yuk!

It'll be nice when all my new parts are finally healed up. No more surgeries for me for awhile hopefully.

Happy Thanksgiving to you & Mike. Take care & keep in touch. JMB

What's up Lynn? How'd Mike do deer hunting? Eric & I didn't see squat! I managed to shoot a nice doe on Monday during a drive. But that was it. Pretty slim pickins' North of Gull Lake where we were hunting. Hope Mike had better luck than we did.

How's your knee doing?

I'm planning on going back to PT this week. It's been nearly (3) weeks since I was last there b/c of my ear surgery. I'm anxious to see what my flextion numbers are. I'll let you know.

A good friend of ours, Kathy Focht, is having the same surgery you had tomorrow in Duluth, MN. I told her about my experience (good & bad) and I told her to check out this website/forum.

She's a teacher w/Nancy at SES. She's taking (4) wks off. Told her that's not enough. She said she'll play it by ear & take more time off as needed. We gave her your name as well. Hope that's O.K. w/you.

Drop me a line when you can. Happy Holidays. JMB

Hey sister, how's it going? Long time no hear. Hope you & Mike are surviving our holiday season in good cheer:xmasclap:.

When are we gonna get together again to catch up and share a cup of nog?:coffee:

Take care & keep in touch. JMB

I'm very happy tonight. We got a good 6 inches of snow overnight with a lot of blowing snow today. Was able to get out and see what my new knee thinks about snowshoeing. Miss Kitty (yellow lab) and I were able to get a good half hour in. And, my knee still feels pretty good hours later. Just a little tightness, but I'm sure after a good night sleep, that will be gone in the am.

Hey, that's just GREAT!!! Snowshoeing would certainly be a good test. I can imagine your muscles might give a bit of a holler on the first time out no matter what!
