Well, roe, roe roe the boat. Guess you were up the .... creek Doug.

I've never eaten anything like it before or after that one time. What amazes me is that some folks really like it.

And what do they like about it's effects? Should put Mullet Roe on the list of alternatives to SS. Just saying.

What about Rocky Mountain oysters? It's a big deal here to have oyster frys and cook 'em up for crowds.

Another food that will never go in my mouth!! At least while I am conscious.

Doug, I know you have, but have any of y'all ever noticed how everything 'exotic', like rattlesnake, aligator, frog-legs etc is always described as "taste like chicken" ? Why not just eat CHICKEN!?

never tasted like chicken to me LOL ...and rocky mountain oysters are awesome.... i agree Gatier if it does it s alot cheaper to eat chicken for sure LOL

I ate alligater at Gater Park? in Florida. It was a bit like a fishy Kentucky. Was OK but wouldn't bother again. Ever had winkles? They are a shellfish, you have to put a pin into the shell to get them out. Found at the seaide in England. Jo? I sat on a Gynecologists lap at a party, I was quite drunk, and he fed them to me.

I love fried froglegs. I've also had turtle, battered and fried.
gator on a stick is good with hot sauce.
As for wrinkles, I get more of those on a weekly basis.

We won't go there right Sue?

I remember going "gigging" with my mom and dad when I was a kid. Going out with a flashlight and a hammer.... then going back and my mom friend up a batch. I liked them then... doesn't appeal to me now....

I get to take my students to food shows every year and we try some interesting new foods.... new last fall was squid ink pasta.... beautiful presentation of hand-made pasta with squid ink rolled in for design.

But I don't eat Bambi or Thumper or Lambchop or veal..... and when I get oysters on my fork--- my elbow refuses to bend!

Up here in Septemeber we have clambakes and mussels and stuff. Love those clams and mussels.

Here is how I like to cook oysters (REAL---NOT THE ROCKY MTN. kind)

Cut bacon strips in thirds. Wrap a bacon slice around each oyster and place a toothpick through to hold it in place. In a medium skillet heat oil and garlic. Cook wrapped oysters in oil until bacon is crisp. Remove from pan and place on a paper towel to drain.

Where I used to teach, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, it was a big-tiem huntin' community. Anyway, one day we shot a rabbit and dressed it---the next day the home-ec ladies cooked it for us and we had it for lunch.

That looks like one darn good oyster recipe.

Don't know what a cobe beef is.
