I can't sit here for many minutes as it's too painful but I wanted to let you know I'm home again, complete with a state of the art Johnson & Johnson titanium knee (at least thst's how my surgeon described it!).

I have only 55 degree bend and getting to that is excrutiating, but at least that's more than there's been for the past 12 weeks. I'm being referred for intensive phsiotherapy which should help, though I have been warned that I may eventually need an MUA.

I'll post again during the week, but wanted to say a huge thank you for all the prayers, support and messages. It's good to be home and back on BoneSmart. Linda x

Hey Linda, atleast all that infection is gone. Im happy for you...It will work for you I know it...Take your medicine and relax. Im glad its at least done. Keep working at it and you will be fine. Im telling this to you like you dont know it. I know you do...So Good Luck and keep us posted....You will be in my prayers.

Morning Linda

You are home and on the road to a great recovery this time.
Keep us posted and will say a prayer for you to have a wonderful recovery.

Wow...LINDA!!! You have been through alot with the infection and removal and now replacement again. I pray that this is IT!

PT will be rough but you have the right attitude. Wish for you the most gentle, firm therapist that can take you through recovery (can't have mine--he's in US)!

Welcome home, Linda and welcome back to the caring arms of your BoneSmart family. We're here for you!!! Take it easy and I hope each day brings a new milestone or two. Recovery weeks go faster than waiting weeks.....

Linda,
So glad you are home! There is no place like home! I will keep you in my prayers.
Please when you can keep us unformed on how you are doing.

I'm waiting for the District Nurse to call to look at my wound which has been leaking and is very sore. I'm sure I'm just being paranoid but, given my history, I thought I'd rather get it checked out.

This is by far the most painful surgery I've had. Also my whole leg is black and blue from bruising which isn't helping to find a comfortable position in which to sit or lie.

BUT I'm walking with just two sticks and can go up and down stairs fairly confidently. I realise it's still very early days and I know that things will get better. Linda x

Oh bless you, Linda! Be careful with that wound! Let's hope and pray it's just superficial. - I feel it is.

Linda,

My best to you with many prayers for an easier recovery with no complications. So sorry for all you have gone through and bruises too, my heart goes out to you. May the Lord bless you during this difficult time of recovery with gentle, peaceful rest. Keep us posted.

Blessings,

Aw Linda I really hope its just because its so early and you hve been thru so much. Please let us know. We will all be worried till we know. My prayers are with you...Take care.....

Sending positive thoughts across the pond to you Linda!!:sct:

Linda,
I am keeping you in the prayer circle so nothng can go wrong!! Nothing! You are going to get better and better every day!!! Or I will hold my breath untill you do! So unless you want to see me BLUE you had better get better!!!

The nurse came yesterday and had a good look at the wound and redressed it. The good news is she said that there's no infection. Apparently the wound's leaking where the staples aren't quite holding the top layer of skin together. She's coming again on Monday to have another look and hopefully to take the staples out. Only about 40 this time so that should be a doddle!

The thing I'm getting a bit concerned about is my exercises. I think my flexion is about the same or perhaps a little more than when I came home but I know my extension is not at all good. Trying to push the leg down is really painful and trying to do a straight leg raise is just impossible - not even half a centimetre off the bed. I hope that once the staples are out things might be a bit easier but I guess in the meantime it's just a case of keep practising - I'd hate to be held responsible for Calling turning blue! Linda x

Linda-
I'm so glad that there's no sign of infection--You deserve an easier time this go round! Take extra good care of yourself. The flex and extention will improve as your poor leg recovers from this proceedure and you are able to start your therapy.
Blessings,
Irene
