Hello everyone, well I have a date for my op which is perfect, I’ve had bloods taken and a Swap, but my hip clinic is after my op , i have called to confirm I wanted the date which is the 30th of December 2019 , the pre op lady said it’s might not happen due to the occupational therapist is so busy in dec/ jan I might not be able to have the Equipment I need for Home , she also said I’ve got to attend hip clinic , so I’m panicking my operation won’t happen, has anybody else had this problem before and what advice can you give because I really want the operation to go her head it is perfect timing kind wishes karen

@Sulliy I am not sure I am understanding your post (I'm in the UK BTW). Are you saying staff at the hospital are questioning your op date? Is this due to them not having scheduled your hip clinic attendance? The equipment and OT should not be an issue.

Where are you located in the UK? I'll help if I can.

I know nothing about health care in UK. I did attend a hip clinic for my first hip and it was informative, I still refer to the book they gave me now. That said the info is all on this board including all of the suggestions of what equipment you might need at home. Most all of the equipment can be found easily beforehand, much of it pre-owned.

Hi
I'm not sure how this has happened as surely they need to do pre-op and things before your surgery. I attended a session with OT but it was mainly about precautions and the process. As long as you make sure everything is at your safe height it should be okay. All my equipment was delivered for me but as long as you know what to do and what you need you should be ok.
