Hi, I'm new here, but a veteran of TKN. In August I'll have my fourth anniversary of my TKN (left knee). I do have one question. Is it normal to have some stiffness in it after all this time? I'm a groundskeeper on a golf course so I walk on it eight hours a day. I like this forum.

Hey there, David. Glad to have you aboard. I need to ask you something - how much PT did you do after the op? How long did you continue with it? if the stiffness recent or has it always been this way?

Hi, Josephine. I had about a month of home therapy and about a month with Center for Rehab Services. The stiffness is fairly recent. I wonder if all this walking on it do something to the joint?

Hey david. Welcome. I think you've got most of us beat as an old timer to TKR. But glad you're here anyway. I'm only at 13 weeks but I do know my physical therapist told me that you can loose ROM and that it would be wise for people with TKR to make the basic leg exercises a lifetime and daily way of life.

Welcome Aboard, David. You Will Certainly Find A Lot Of Nice People Here That Are Willing To Lend You Thier Support And Good Cheer, You Will Enjoy Each And Every One Of Them. Add To That The Wonderful Advice And Support We Get From Josephine And Our Forum Is Certainly A Positive Place For Anyone Who Has Had Tkr Or Thr Or Questions About Either One. Rowdy

Jennifer, I guess I sort of gotten away from those exercises and it wouldn't be a bad idea to start them again. By the way, what part of CT. do you live? My girlfriend lives in East Hartford.

I border on 3 counties, Litchfield, hartford and new haven counties. Are you in CT also?

No Jennifer. I live in Pittsburgh, Pa! I met my girlfriend online on a cat forum we belong to. I took a trip to visit her last year. Connecticut is a beautiful state.

If by joint you mean the prosthesis, then no, that wouldn't be the case. It will likely be the ligaments, muscles and other tissues like the joint capsule. Though I really can't imagine that if you've been doing this job for almost four years that it would suddenly be responsible for the stiffness.

Have you had any mishaps recently? Twisted it, stumbled, taken a tumble? Have you had any infections like a dental abscess, any other abscess, sore through or chest infection, urinary tract infection? And finally, save you discussed this with your doctor? And if so, what does he say?
