I am seven months post op today. Things have been going great! I continuously boast about how I've gotten my life back since my RTHR.

In the past week or so, however, I've had a new sensation (pain) that I'm curious about. When I bend my leg greater than 90 degrees, I get that familiar groin pain that I had presurgery. I don't have this pain when I walk, thank goodness. Also, I've developed a "pinching" sensation in my butt right about where a pocket might be.

Weather around here has been overcast and rainy off and on for the past month and a half. I'm wondering if that could have anything to do with the pain.

I know I'm still in the healing process so am not extremely alarmed about what is going on. Anyone have any thoughts?

Carol,

Are you still doing any of the PT stretching? If not, perhaps its things tightening back up a bit or maybe some scar tissue developing. My mantra at the moment is, stretch, ice, stretch, ice...

I had my HR in Nov 2007. I have recently had a TKR and my hip started hurting, concerned that it was loosening I had an Xray which showed all was OK, so in my case it's just I can move again, (now I have the new knee) and my hip is wondering what all this activity is. It is the same pain up the thigh I had before my hip replacement so I understand how it can bring back scary memories. If it continues get your GP or OS to investigate it, but it is probably just as mudpro said.

Good luck with your recovery.

Chris :)

In the groing it's more likely a muscle or ligament that's got inflamed a bit. And the rear 'pinching' could be a bit of sciatica. I suggest seeing a chiroprator for an evaluation and possible treatment. And your doctor even if only for some reassurance.
