Hi and welcome! I'm also a newbie to the site. I have learned tons of good information here already. I also love the comraderie and encouragement everyone here gives to each other.

I found the pain meds made me moody and I cried more than usual. I guess they are a "necessary evil" when recovering from this surgery, though. It does get better and I've done so well with my RTKR (June 10) that I have already scheduled my LTKR for Oct 28. I'm so tired of the pain and limitations. I am actually looking forward to this second surgery!

Good luck with your PT. Hang in there! We're always here for you.

I'll bet you are! Just think.....in a few weeks you'll be sooo much happier!!:thmb:

Well, I love this forum too! It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the members gather round a new member and give reassurance and encouragement in spades! When I had my knee done, I never realised how important and how profound that support was. There isn't a member on here I don't have a special place for in my heart and that includes those visitors that are yet to be members!

After all, strangers are just friends you haven't yet met!

Hi Linda, (Hearth_Cricket)

I think you're the 3rd Linda on here, so I'm putting your sign in name as well....Welcome!

I too am facing my second TKR in 2 weeks. Not really looking forward to everything that comes with this surgery again, just looking forward to the RESULTS! Strange how as time gets closer, I am more sensitive and having emotional times when I break down and cry. Like you, I guess the weight of everything involved is weighing heaving on my shoulders. Here it is at the beginning of the school year and I am not looking forward to teaching my children. The thought of trying to do both is overwhelming. I am starting slow to get a routine going, so when surgery comes with the early stages of recovery, it will hopefully go a little smoother.

I agree with you that doing normal things like paying bills is a step in the right direction. With all the pain meds we have to take to recover, even the small tasks help us to return to normal. Hope you are doing better and taking one day at a time. Post whenever you need to vent or share a milestone. We will be here to share each of those moments with you.

Blessings,
