New Doctor

Hi Everyone, Its been a very busy week and a half,My husband ended up in the hospital for what was chest pains after many tests he has acid reflux and they said as of the looks of things had it for many years. He is home and doing good.I did lots of walking for that week and was very sore when i got home at night. Yesturday we when out to Philadelphia to see this new doctor and his office was like a small town lots of workers, when the doctor was looking at my x-rays he did say there is alot wrong with my replacement, there is just a little looseing the big problem is that it was not put in straight also it is just a little to big for me and on top of it all my DCL is streached,
My pre-op is for June 29 and my big day is July 23 so now i have lots of things to do in a short time just made my dental appt,to get your medical clearance you see either a internist or cariologist thats on staff at Pennsylvania hospital. Since i had the blood clot last time when i see this doctor he might want to put a screen in my goin if so they put you in the hospital the day before. The doctor only uses epidural and sedation thats going to be a first for me and its 3-4 days and its either to rehb. or home the last time i was in a rehb.so i would love to just come home after that i wouldnt find out until a week before. I was also told no shaving 3 days before and the night before to take my shower and then you start to prepping the skin with theses 2% CHG cloths and no shower the next day So with all the questions that my husband and i ask there was a answer and i was told to call any time if i had a question I do have butterflies now,until later

Glad to hear you found a new OS that listens to you and is going to resolve your problem. Not put in straight and loose is definitely a problem! I am glad you don't have to wait too very long to have it resolved. Glad your husband had reflux rather than heart issues too.

Aw you so sorry you have to do this again, but atleast it will be right. He sounds as though he knows what he's talking about. I know its bothered you for awhile. Glad he answered all your questions. Oh hang in there. I know its tough and then to do it again. Maybe you wont have as much pain because it will correct, and your not walking on something that doesnt fit..Geez!!!..Please keep us up to date........Get all your ducks in a row and that will take alot of stress off. Glad hubby is doing well. You will be just fine...

I hope your original OS is aware of all the pain and trouble he has caused. He is either incompetent or ignorant or both. All of those problems are major and the outcome of his surgery was inexcusable.

Im sorry to ask , what is a screen in the groin. I mean does that look for a clot or see a clot...Just wondering. Does it stay in there.

What I was told they start it in the groin and its goes up into the chest and if a clot breaks off it stops it from going into my lungs not sure if it stays in for some reason that is one question i didnt asked .When I see the doctor on June 29 I will find out more then,but maybe Jo or Jamie can answer that for us

Hi Kim, I am doing ok there has been so much going on here and I cant get enough sleep even with a sleeping pill . I fall asleep with no problem but i am up 2 hours later,I know its the pain of my knee along with my Fibro.The weather here is playing games with us its only 65 and more rain is on the way for the next 5 days,last week it didnt stop raining for days,that makes the pain greater! Cant wait for the summer, How are you doing? Any plans for Fathers day? We are going to a BBQ if it doesnt rain Talk later

Wishe we had some rain, hot as heck here.....I know the sleep sticks as Judles would say Im the resident insomniac....lol...Just take it easy it will get here fast enuogh. Us to just the BBQ. Do you take medicine for the fibro.....Hope its stops hurting soon.......

I find a really good Margarita does the trick. Do not take at same time of pain pill though.

I am serious. I have a Margarita for dinner then when
I take a 1/2 or whole pain pill at night. I sleep for several hours.

Since about the 7th or 8th week though I have been sleeping ok.

But still when we go out to eat I will have a Margarita and I know I will have a good nights sleep:hehe:

Loggon,A margarita sure sounds good,its been a long time since i had one of thoses.But with all the meds i take along with the pain patch and pain pills for my knee and my fibromyalgia a nice drink like that is in my dreams.Maybe after I get this knee fixed the right way, I hope that i can get off of some meds.But until then have one for me please!

Salsa is not high in calories and if you use whole wheat chips you will get rid of alot of the old fattening calories. So drink a Margarita for me too. I love them!! Have some in down stairs refrid. But right now I am not doing steps that well!! LOL Mabe by Friday I will be able to do the steps while holding on to the margarita bottle. LOL If not I guess I could just sit down in the basement and drink!!!! LOL ROFL LMHO!!!!!! I can just see in my minds eye Hubby comming home and finding me in the basement drinking!!! Dang what a sight that would be!!!

When I was still taking pain medication, the first dose I "lost" was the one right after work around 4:00 PM. I asked if I could substitute a glass or 2 of wine instead and they said yes! I was so pleased. It worked great for me. I enjoy my glass of wine at the end of each workday or with dinner.....
Worked for me!

Today I got the ok from the insurance company for the operation, Now I am a smoker after my last TKR i went back so I am hopeing tomorrow night will be my last smoke,I Know tomorrow night will be my last cigarette!
