Hey there. I am 70, got the right hip done at 69 and my PT referred to me as “young.” Ha. I guess, compared to 85. I could not stand for long at all and apparently I moaned when I walked for longer than a block. Woke up every day with this nasty burning on both sides. Turned out both hips were bad. Right one bone on bone. It affected my back, my left knee. I kept boxes of stick-on heat pads around at all times.

Long ago, I danced for 20 years and then went to the gym religiously for many years after that. It was awful to feel so impaired.

I can’t tell you the thrill of being able to walk with my old New York stride and to stretch again.

It’s natural to be scared but you will see so many success stories here!

FWIW, I begged for cortisone, 6 weeks before the first surgery. I hated it. The surgery was pretty much a breeze.
