Welcome MMS. I was a few weeks out before I found this forum back in January, It was a life saver, I had felt down and depressed as it seemed I was taking too long to recover. I also though I was alone, then I found all these wonderful Kneesal Buddies (now some Hippies too). I am 6 months out now, just had a manipulation and still need to check in here on a regular basis.

Jo is the very best mother hen out there. Just keep posting as often as you like, we will be here for you. Hugs, Sue

Sue's right there, mms. Welcome to the forum. And yes, we are here 24/7 for you. Pretty much always someone online.

Sue, did you know there is a place in Nottinghamshire called Kneesall?

Hi and welcome MMS.
I am 49 years old and two weeks post-op RTKR. This forum is truly a blessing.
I found it about 3 weeks pre-op. These guys are such a big help, both in answering my questions to picking my spirits up. They cheer me on. Good luck to you in your recovery.

Hi mms WELCOME and you are not alone, but now you know that. I had my knees done in march, age 39 and turned 40 while still in the hospital. So even the young thing is kinda routine for us here.
Jo, Sue. where did our nickname kneesalls come from anyway?

MMS, you are truly not alone! I'm almost 40, and 5 weeks post op for LTKR. It does seem very slow, but when I consider what was done, it really has been moving along fairly well!! I'm just thrilled to be rid of the initial pain. Now, I have GOOD pain, and hopefully, that will go away in time!

Keep your head up, and when your down, visit this site. I have been hanging around here for a while now. I found this site at least 5 weeks pre-op. I have found so much comfort here, and it seems that anything I am experiencing, someone else has been through. Therefore, I can always get answers, or inspiration when I need it!

Good luck, and visit often,
Hess

It makes me cry to know you are all there helping each other. I do feel better knowing your there. This is harder than I ever thought it would be no one told me that it would hurt so bad for so long. I wanted to quit (not that I could-it was done) THANKS
-Michele

Hi, MMS: I can still relate to the feeling of sheer joy upon finding this forum. I am still amazed at the goodwill that is ALWAYS here among the people who have had joint replacement surgeries. I am an old lady, going to be 67 in a few weeks, but I am so relieved to see that the surgeons are doing these surgeries on younger people. No one should have to live with the pain that accompanies knees that are shot. I can't speak about hips as I haven't been there but I don't imagine it is any picnic either. I hope you continue to come here as you will not find a better source of information and support than you will find here. If it were not for this site I would have driven the surgeons office crazy the first couple of weeks in particular after surgery. I don't think there was one question I had that someone had not posted about and others responded to. So welcome aboard. Rowdy

Me too, Rowdy! In exactly nine weeks to be exact. That day I shall also be celebrating my 50th anniversary of starting nursing - and I'm STILL working!

I plan to do a marathon 'flag-in' on that day and let the local papers know as well!

Have to get in shape, methinks!

Isn't it funny how as we age, what is considered old keeps getting bumped up.

It's like they say "If you find a job you enjoy you will never have to work again for the rest of your life". P.S. Thanks for the video. _Gary
