Anyone experienced nerve reactions like this? - during deep tissue massage on my leg, each time the PT strokes my leg it sets off a pulse of toothache (on a 1 leg stroke/1 tooth pulse basis). When they stop, it stops....now my tooth is sensitized so that when I touch certain parts of my leg, or do stretches, it triggers the tooth.

The PT thinks it is funny. I am scheduled to see my surgeon in a couple of days for a checkup, and my dentist in a couple of weeks for the same, so am not worried, am simply amused, curious and startled.

Hello rosbif I am not experiancing that exact type of nerve pain but another type. what is happening to me is I get what I call zingers everything will be fine and the next thing you know i get these shooting pains that zip up and down and through the knee. I also have an issue with a muscle that me and the Pt think is caused by a nerve. I believe that my problems are associated with a prior injury I can only hope that it will not continue to be an issue??

rosbif,
I have experienced referred pain to a toothache in the past. It did not deal with my knee replacement. I was pregnant with our first son and apparently a nerve was being pressured that caused the pain in my mouth. It was all of my bottom teeth! It does hurt. Sorry you are dealing with this. It is a nerve however that sends the impulses...... Good luck with it.
Mine went away as my son changed positions and grew.
Best,
Crystal

Interesting ... if I get a pain in my foot, nerve twitch or some such, I get a sharp stabbing pain in my abdominal wall just above my umbilicus! Like I've stabbed myself with a sewing needle! Odd or what? I never mentioned it to anyone before because I always thought they'd think it was odd. First time I heard of it otherwise.

Nerve pain is the worst, have had it for years. The longer it goes on the harder it is to get rid of or so I was told about a hundred years ago. I have a pain that is caused by the stenosis in my neck when there is swelling in my neck, it causes this feeling of an electric shock up the side of my head. I can tell it is on the outside of the skull but when it is going on it drives me crazy. I use ice, reduce the swelling and it stops. Nerves are crazy things. Rowdy
