Oh, I am so sorry about the kitty. I didn't know. Good that you got a new one. Things will fall in place, I know you want it now. but do remember you are still healing. I know its ruff. I also feel that I need to get things in order but I must heal first. Remember to go slow. I know that not what you want to hear but it will be ok. Your :kittykiss::kittykiss: know that they will take care of you while you are healing. Take care and remember that everything will work out. When you get out of pain you will feel so much better. Is there a widow group near you. I know they are older than you but they might know of place you can voluteer. Tashia Have you hug your :kittykiss::kittykiss: today?

You are doing so good. Just keep your eye on the healing. Please be easy on your self, you have had so much happen in such a short time. Now is the time to heal and process what has happened. I am so glad that you knee is doing as well as it is. I had forgotten about riding horses until you mentioned it. It would be wonderful to get back onto the wonderful creature. I also have that dream. Don't let go of it. Looking forward to dream is good but for me I also have to be realistic about them. Have you hug your :puppysmooze::puppysmooze: today? :heehee: Take care. Tashia

Hello Everyone,
It seems like ages since I have been here. You all helped me through some very rough times and I think about it often. I don't know what I would have done without all of you!
I am plugging along, still having knee problems, the ROM is still at only around 90 so it makes life a bit difficult. I kept hoping things would change and feel like I have just given up. I even tried pool therapy and it only caused me pain and swelling. Every time I look down at my terrible, discolored scar I think about all I had gone through. Just a bad situation but am slowly accepting it.
My doctor, internist, still gets angry when he thinks about how he tried to help and the surgeon would not even return his calls.
My new revisionist surgeons attitude is " I have seen worse"and is not seeing me again for two years, unless I have problems. Just does not seem right? I just think he hates dealing with the other surgeons mistakes. He made some comment about that the first time I met him. All he could say is....I have no idea what is wrong, I did not do it.
So here I am! Sorry, I have been having a bad day. I just want to feel a little normal?LOL
I hope everyone is doing well and just wanted to come back here and thank you all again!!!

The first thing I would do is look for a new revisionist. 90 is not enough for a normal life---he could not even tell you if it is adhesions or some other problem? Wow what an ego, no wonder you did not like him.

Don't accept defeat----even if it means work for you, the ultimate victory will be moving without pain and resuming an active life---keep that in the forefront of your thoughts. Are you near a university? it seems that they have more staff who will take on problems.

@BrnEydGrl geez...that doctor is cold hearted. :(. I have a friend who lives with 90 ROM and while it's not idea, she lives with it. I don't think she gets pain and swelling like you do though. I hope you find someone else that can help you and one that has more compassion!

Hi BEG,
:welome: back. How are your Mom and Step Dad?
Sorry to hear you are still have problems with your knee.

I agree with skigirl, you need to find another OS who does revisions, he should be able to figure out what is going on and give you some options. I saw a total of 4 OS who specialize in revisions. It is well worth the effort.
@Jamie can help you locate surgeons in your area that do revisions.

Good to hear from you, glad you posted and update, hope you find someone who can give you answers to why you are having so much trouble with your knee.

@BrnEydGrl,

I am so sorry to hear of the problems you are still having! Get a different revisionist and you will find out that there is hope for a "best of your life," around the corner! Please, never give up!

For example, my foot has been broken for almost 10 weeks now, and the dr. I saw finally told me two weeks ago that he doesn't do surgeries, even though everyone else in the practice does. :tantrum: Well, if I had known that earlier, it would have explained why I wasn't healing.

I went to Dallas and saw a specialist on Thursday, and he immediately said, "you have a Jones fracture!" I had been blamed for walking without my crutches, without my trike etc. but in reality, this type of fracture is the slowest healing fracture in the body! I was told by my new doctor, to get off the crutches, and back to walking on my foot! What a difference in opinions!

Yes, it is good to check back in to where we all found each other and the encouragement we all needed. Sure is no fun being part of the lucky 1% that doesn't recover on the normal curves. It truly is wonderful to be able to meet up with others who have been in the same boat. We don't always have the answers, but I do think we have more compassion than some of the surgeons you and some others have encountered. None of the surgeons like to be reminded of something that could be labelled their failure. One of the ways they can deal with it is to minimize their contacts. I suspect Josephine wouldn't like to hear that comment, but I don't think everyone in the profession comes with a heart of compassion that our tough cases need.

I was just in to see my surgeon for my two year post op visit. I'm not as limited as you, but I was hanging out at 90 ROM a lot longer than I wanted to be, so I can empathize on some level. Unfortunately, I do have good ROM now, but I still can't navigate the stairs. This visit showed an abnormality on my patella which looks like a Christmas ornament with two pointed tips - one up and one down. For now, I just live with it - go one step at a time. I discussed this with my PA to my surgeon who explained being lawsuit skiddish, keeps them from being as helpful with information as they might be.

I'll chime in with the others and say find another revisionist. Hope you've found some other support systems in town, too. Take care, keep us posted.

Oh, Its so good to hear from you. I was thinking about you the other day but I wasn't near my computer. I am glad things are settling down. I know for a while things were not good. On the other hand I am dispointed about the knee. I was hoping it had gotten better. I agree with the other get another opion but do it on your time not anyone elses. The reason I was hoping is my knees are still getting better so I hoped that your knee would. Please keep us informed on how you are doing. I know that the life you have can and will get even better in time. Take care. Tashia

Oh so sorry to hear you are having issues. Can you see someone else. My goal was to be able to clean behind the toilet.. 90 degrees did not do it. You are entitled to a better life. We all know how pain becomes the center of one's life. Please find another doctor. Your insurance should cover it.

Welcome back BEG....I wish your absence was because things were better.

Don't give up, stay open to the idea that you can get your life back.

Let us know how everything is going besides your knee as well. You had so much to handle and I know we all worried about you.

We are here!

Dawn

BEG, so sorry that you are dealing with pain still. I deal with stiffness, and I need to keep doing all of my PT exercises, but not what you are dealing with. Yes, I agree, finding a revision doctor who will consider options with you rather than say, "See you in two years," seems to be the most important step. Have you gotten any suggestions? And how are your mom and dad?

You all are sooooo great! Just hearing encouragement helps, it really does, thank you! The reason I have not been around is because of Mom and Step dad. His Parkinson's has really progressed and also has Alzheimer's. Mom has had a couple of minor heart attacks and dementia is settled in. <big sigh> Finally, just last week a spot opened in the personal care building, so I moved them all by myself. (help from maintenance on the big stuff) I will be able to breathe easier now, and hope no more middle of the night phone calls. It has been a really tough year.

I have been so busy with them, I have really not had time to meet anyone in the area and still have no support, except myself. I have not had time to even think about my knee. My ankle, gave out so I did go to a great doc in NYC who said, no surgery, lets deal with a brace and orthotics! Yea! I did fit in some pool therapy for my back, (four bad discs) and thought it would also help my knee....well, all it did was cause pain and swelling.

I agree, I need to start looking for another. Maybe back in NYC. He took x-rays and did blood work and said there is no infection, placement seems ok.....but again "he did not do it." Every time I asked.....adhesion, etc? I got the same answer. So yes, I need to move on...I just wish this nightmare would end? Darn, I sound like I am getting sorry for myself again.... I do believe I can maybe start a life now that they are both "safe." Thank you again!!! I shall return!!! :ok:

BEG,

Glad you are finally free to focus on your needs. I've been dealing with aging parent issues this year, too, but no where near the intensity that you have had to be concerned.

Yes, I can see why you'd want the nightmare to end. I eventually decided I needed the nightmare to end and quit PT and routine appts and lived without focusing on exercise routines diet routines that were knee related and just limp along with my stairs. I'm ready to be focused again - take more weight off, get to the gym... Not sure what the xray may mean as far as limitations that my knee structurally has, but I needed the break. I suspect you're not at a functioning level that you're ready to say, I'm ready for a break, but you may get to a point where you just have to switch your focus whether your body is as functional as you want or not. You probably should find a new revisionist and go through that round of efforts before consider taking a break.

Hey, thanks for pulling lots of familiar names together. It's good to hear from some of the others you've been hearing from, too. Hi Ya'll!!!:rotfl::wowspring::flwrysmile::yay::giggle:
