Nausea and pain meds

THERE IS HOPE! I have exactly the same reaction from all those drugs - Oxycontin, Tramadol, Toradol, Percocet, Ultram etc. I get VIOLENTLY ill. For my THR on 2/26/09 I consulted a pain management center and the minute after I registered for my surgery, I was give an anti-nausea patch (aka Transderm-Scop) behind my ear. It was a miracle and still is. Mine was a 1.5 mg/ 72 hr OHM. I have been able to take my pain meds without a problem. I am currently on Dilaudid and it is working well. I have to be very mindful of the 72 hour window as if I exceed my body reacts and I am a retching mess with a horrific headache. There are options for you...

Yeah, I was on anti-nausea medication for two weeks while still on all of the drugs, and couldn't figure out why I was so violently ill.... Then one day I decide I'm just gonna stop the Oxycontin.... get it down to one kind of drug, and holy cow a difference THAT made! No nausea at all!!! I could eat again, bowels worked again, ALL was well. Lesson learned, and in time for the next surgery! :)
