Way to go, @CPH! With the need for a revision which lengthens out this whole recovery progress, you've certainly been through the wringer! But sounds like you took a deep breath and plunged right in, so good for you! I can't imagine losing weight after hip replacement as my goal is simply not to put any one that I can't take off quickly after full recovery. I was scrolling through library topics a few days ago, and was horrified to see some article that said that 66% of all hip (or maybe it was joint) replacement patients put on weight after surgery! That didn't happen last time so I'm pretty sure if I monitor the situation carefully I'll be okay. But the combination of laughable physical exertion plus big time eating (yet another "activity" to fill one's long days!) makes your weight loss of 15 pounds super impressive! Kudos to you, and I hope within a few weeks you'll be able to attempt more weight bearing. I feel extraordinarily lucky that I am able to balance evenly on both hips/legs, no uneven listing onto my good side. Still sore and stiff when I move, but once I'm up and the initial rush of standing passes, I am fairly steady on my pins. Anyway, keep on doing what you're doing--it's working! Hurray for you!
