Least that's what it felt like! After almost two years not lifting a flag, I did a 'spot' in church today for the edification of the people. It was awesome! I didn't hop and skip as much as I used to but it felt great to be flagging my worship again! The event was recorded by a friend who is going to put it on DVD for me. Then it will go on YouTube (naturally!) and I'll post it here.

I was told I almost caught a flag in the episcopal candle! and a little toddler about 18 months old ambled down the aisle unnoticed by anyone until I dobbed him on the head with my flag! But couldn't have been too hard as his expression hardly flickered as a man shooed him back to his mother! Have to say though, that is my worst nightmare when I'm flagging. People just don't realise that when I'm under the flags a) I mostly have my eyes shut and b) I am almost totally oblivious to anyone else! But generally people seemed to like it.

I considered this my "resurrection" from my TKR and all!

Hey Josephine sounds great!! Congratulations on being back at it and the resurrection.
Looking forward to the video.
Cheers, Ross :thmb:

Can't wait for the video! So glad for you

From one Episcopalian to another, you told that story well, Jo. I feel like I went to church today. I can't wait for the video. : )

How wonderful, Jo. You're going to be the Pied Piper of the flaggers, I see....little children following you everywhere.

I know it felt exciting to be expressing yourself again through the flags. It really is a beautiful art form...so majestic.

Yes, Jo---good work. You will be kneeling at communion before you know it. I went to church today and organized the Thanksgiving baskets along with some of the other old aged pensioners like me at church!!! We got twenty baskets together and were happy with the results. There are so many people out of work here in Montana, that the need for food is really large.

I would love to see your video. Our church is fairly low---but, I love the liturgy in all it forms. Kelly

WTG Jo, I know how important this was for you. Well done, we are both walking the recovery path together. XXXX

Congratulations Jo, I can hear the joy in your post. I can't wait to see your video.
Your recovery is going so well. You are an inspiration!

Sincerely, Kimberly

Jo that is so awesome. i am truly happy for you. Glad you did n't start a fire or knock out the toddler!!!

Well done Jo! You must be a very happy bunny now! What next for you, I wonder? Does your TKR knee feel like a normal knee? Mine (I have two) do some of the time, but not all of the time. I don't really know whether it's supposed to feel normal eventually. As long as it doesn't hurt (which it doesn't) then I'm happy. Haven't tried proper kneeling yet, by the way. Haven't ventured out to the shed to find the garden kneelers (to fix round the knees) to see if that will make it easier, as the weather is too horrible.

So happy for you Jo! Can't wait til we get to see the video!

That's FANTASTIC JO!! It's TRULY, a blessing when your back to doing the things
you ABSOLUTELY LOVE!! This sounds Interesting, and I would like very much to
see the ceremony.

I probably would have burn the place down, and given the poor child a concussion:hehe: My Luck!!

Thanks all, Val, what next is that I get to finish the pilgrimage of north country cathedrals. I've already 'done' Durham and Peterborough and have eight more on my list. Peterborough was the one in the YouTube vid - remember?

The others will be Newcastle, Carlisle, York, Sheffield, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester and Coventry. These are all places I've worked, lived or had some association with. I started in Durham because it's the oldest and am ending in Coventry because it's the newest (bar one - Liverpool, but that's Catholic so kind of doesn't count!)
