My Dr gave me the go ahead (as far as my incision is concerned) to start water therapy. He has told me that since I am non weight bearing for 7 weeks water is the best thing for me. He did tell me to wait until my pain was under better control tho.
I have improved greatly in the past few days. I am really puzzled by the huge difference in such a short time, but hey, I'll take it! I dont know what was going on, but the pain is not on the severe level at all now. I am going to call tomorrow and get my sessions started for the following week. By then I think I should be really good to go. It also usually takes at least a week to get into the water therapy anyway.
The rehab where I go has an underwater treadmill. I used it with the last THR and it is heaven! It felt so good to be able to stretch my leg and walk on it. The water is so warm it feels like bath water. It even has a camera underwater so that you can keep an eye on your legs. Has anyone else had this luxury? If you havent you really dont know what you are missing!
