This is procedure where, when a cavity has developed in the femoral condyle, the surgeon harvests bone grafts from the upper area of the condyle and uses it to pack the cavity.

The intention is that the bone will create new bone in the cavity so the knee will return to normal..

However, sadly this isn't always as successful as one could hope and ultimately, the knee will require a total knee replacement.
