Hi @Layla!!

Thank you SO much for the message!
I can't believe it's 2 months already.
9 weeks post op tomorrow to be exact.

I'm back at work and am working from home until Feb 11 as I have a desk job so am grateful to be able to stay in the comfort of my own home as I do still have my "days".

Am having one now actually and am on my bed with an ice pack. Too much sitting is not agreeing with my hip but I'm getting there.

Hope you are well and had a lovely time over the silly season.

Hi there :loveshwr:

First I'd like to say that everyone's journey and timeframe for recovery is different and whilst I am sharing my 3 month post op update, it is not a representation of what everyone will or should experience as we are all different and that's what makes us special and unique.

Personally I think not waiting until I was really bad pre surgery helped me along post surgery.

I also had a bikini hip replacement which I think also helped with my recovery because it was less Invasive as the incision was quite small and was made along my groin crease.

At 3 months I have no pain and most of my flexibility is back. I don't have that aching groin pain that used to keep me up at night and i haven't taken a pain killer in weeks.

I have walked more than I have in years (13,000 steps in a day at times) and ride my exercise bike daily with no discomfort or pain afterwards.

My incision is slightly lumpy but a lot better than it was before and my outer thigh is still a bit numb but that will take up to a year apparently to come good.

I probably won't post much more about me but will definitely be in the sidelines cheering others on.

Thank you to my bonesmart family for supporting me on my journey.

@Morgan Le Fay :thankyou:

I'm so thrilled to hear about your swift recovery. Congratulations! You've been a wonderful source of inspiration to me personally because of your lovely attitude to it all. I realise, my recovery may not follow yours exactly, maybe it will be longer, maybe I'll face some different challenges but it's the direction of travel that is important. I do hope you'll keep us updated. Personally I'll be so happy to just hear you living your life to the full. I also hope you will step in and give me a boost of your enthusiasm when I come crawling over the threshold to the recovery side. I may need a few of your positivity boosts :yes:

@Deni444

Thanks Deni!!

I'll be around for sure.

I'm on the train heading into the city as it's my first physical day back in the office today.

Another step in the right direction of life.

I will be keeping an eye on your journey. You are going to come through wonderfully.

:spin:

HAPPY THREE MONTH ANNIVERSARY!

You've been a joy to support and I couldn't be any happier for you, Morgan!
Thanks for sharing your healing journey with everyone here and also for supporting others through it all.
I'm happy to read this is not "goodbye" as we'd miss your cheery disposition around here. :SUNsmile:
Hopefully you're able to easily transtion back into work and you receive a warm welcome from your colleagues.
Hugs and best wishes! :friends:

@Morgan Le Fay -so happy to read you are doing so well!! Hope your first week back at work went well. So good to get back to life after this experience. Hope things continue to get better & you get to enjoy your new hip!!! :loveshwr:

Hiiiiiiii

Okay so I went back to work last week (desk job) and was reminded that I'm not as wonderfully progressed as I thought I was.

I went up a couple of flights of stairs and dragged a work trolley bag from the station to the office full of folders and now I have the aches big time and need to take anti inflammation meds.

Ugh.

So at 3 months post op if you have a set back (or 2 or 3) don't be disheartened :eyebrows:

I am so sorry. It does happen though. Do all you can to make it easy on yourself as you transition back into the workplace. I hope you're able to rest enough over the weekend and you're feeling better by Monday. :console2:
Take care, Morgan.
@Morgan Le Fay

Oh No :tantrum2: You were doing so well until those stairs! I guess it makes sense because even without surgery stairs can be quite a workout on soft tissue if you haven't done them for a while. Hopefully it will all calm back down again and you can work on those stairs gradually. Take care of yourself :flwrysmile:
