Has anyone here had to have a MUA done twice on the same knee? Had it done 2 months out of surgery. It seemed to work pretty good. I'm know about 8 months post op. Wondering if it would help again. Still a little stiff and would like more flexion. Stuck at about 95 or so. I guess I need to go and see my OS. Any thoughts?

Hi, Gary....I moved your post to it's own thread so it can get the attention it deserves. I can't recall offhand any of our forum members who have needed more than one manipulation, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there.

Very few times, Gary. If the situation is that the first MUA doesn't do the business, a second is unlikely to achieve any more. Having said that, I have seen a second one done on a few occasions but what the outcomes were I couldn't say. It was a while ago.

Sadly, sometimes we get stuck at a certain point and that's it.

Why do you think your ROM is reduced? Have you had any other problems post-op?

Hi Gary, I had one 7 months after my RTKR and I had improvement. I still don't have the ROM I want, 105 at the moment. My OS is considering another MUA further down the road. I am at 14 months now.

I will possibly need my left one replaced soon, so I will maybe ask if he can try the MUA then if not before. I still have some swelling and stiffness, a tight band around my knee. How about you?

Thanks Jamie

Jo I just feel I can get more out of it. I had better flexion before the surgery. I don't know. I want MORE lol. The left one is doing great. The right one seems to be stuck or improving at a much slower rate. Any ideas? Going to go see a buddy who was my PT. He can mesure it again.

Nurse Mine feels stuffy. Tighter along from the top to the bottom of the inside right knee joint. Ligs I guess. I do ride my recumbant bike just about everyday 10 to 30 mins.

The exercise that really helped me with flexion was doing lunges. I would put the foot on the operated leg up on something and lunge forward (slowly) as far as I could and then hold it for a while. I would do this many times a day. It still helps when my knee is stiff.
