Where are you Glenda, how are you doing now?? Miss you!

You too Titaniumman. How are you and how is Scottie? Hope all is well with you all. Hugs, Sue

You are right. We're missing several folks. I hope that means they are doing great and don't feel a need to blog us... but I'd sure love to hear about their success as it gives the rest of us hope! WHERE ARE YOU ALL????

I know for me, I am here once in a while, but there is just so many threads and it is getting so time consuming. I miss things, out of the loop for a few days and you get lost. So many times I just don't bother. Plus I am trying to work now from home and going back to work soon. My staff calls me multiple times a day so I might as well be working. It is just overload and not enough hours in a day.

Kath...I SO know what you mean. That's one of the reasons that I went back, full time, at 4 weeks....I was called constantly and they were SCREWING everything up!

I lucked out. My staff did such a great job of handling things during my 3 months off that I was able to go back to a new job, promotion, and left the old job behind. I never even went back to it after my leave!! It was Great! Of course, this new job is a mess, but I'm herding them cats and making them meow!

I only work from home anyway I'm glad to say. I still mess up though, stupid little things, with my head all fuzzy from the pills. Have a great boss though, she's one of my best friends, she understands, she is another one who has run around for me these past weeks.

Hello all, I am here. Sometimes I just read. I am doing good ( for myslef ) atleast. I am now at 5 weeks Post OP. I am doing great wih strenght, stamina but have to deal with ROM issues. Yesterday was my 5 week post op OS visit with xrays, whe my OS turned on the xray lights and saw my knee i saw a smile come to his face ( first time i have ever seen him smile), he must have been happy with his work because it did lookso nice and straight. He showed me what he could do as far as bending and extending my knee and had told me that if he could bend and straghten it out like he had then it is up to me o do it on my own. I am at 87 ROM and +3 in flexion and he feels I should have no problem reaching -5 and 110 ROM. When I told him that i felt as if i should be further along in my progress he reminded me at where my knee was before surgery and that I have come along way. I can now ride a bike ( and do so for 20 minutes about 3.5 miles lowering the seat every 5 minutes) I seem to be doing real good as far as strenght, just need to work on ROM and I know I will get there.

Nu,
Great to hear from you. I do the 5min bike intervals too. I've found that best for pushing the ROM.
I would suggest the treadmill on about 2.0mph. I don't like the way my foot hits if it is level so I start at a 3# grade. Work up to a 5# grade. It will help work the calf and butt. Keep the speed slow so you're not pounding the surface. And as always. ice, ice, ice.

Life is GOOD!! My whole situation turned around when I started taking Ibuprophen.. I dont use prescribed meds ever..anymore.. and my therapy is moving at lightening speed. I am only a couple of degrees from straight and ... now this is the great part.. 7 degrees from 130 on flex.. I am so excited .. I whistle all the was to PT..and only go acouple of days a week now.. actually it as been such a great experience, I am checking out a couple of gyms next week to condition the rest of my tired muscles!!! I hope everyone experiences the same success I am feeling... it is fantastic.. and I promise .. 3 weeks ago I did not think this day would come!!!
Hugs and Blessings Linda

Whoo Hoo! Glad to hear you are doing so great, Linda. I wish I could take ibuprofen, but my liver or kidney, dont' remember which, is borderline after all I took while I was in pain early on. So, don't over do or you may be limited in the future. I can take Alleve or Tylenol, but neither is as effective as ibuprofen.

God bless you!

NN - good to hear from you! Glad you are coming along well. Reading anything good?? I went through 5-6 books and countless magazines during my recovery. I love to read. It is so relaxing. So, pass along any good book reviews.

Texas and NN....your progress is wonderful!!! Texas, I am especially impressed with your latest ROM report. That is something for all of us to work toward!!! So happy for both of you. ...Jamie

Thanks.. and I sincerely hope everyone here 'turns that corner'. My PT has been amazed at my progress ... and it didnt surprise anyone more than it did me as I had struggled for weeks.. I surely hope that I dont get some sort of Liver issue and have to give up my Ibuprophen.. it has made all the difference for me.

Blessings LInda
