@ChrissyW how fabulous! I'm so excited for you! What a fab thing to do
Can't wait to hear all about it
Happy Sunday indeed
@ahipgma I hope you're getting some comfortable rest in your recliner? I have a lovely mental image of you and your hubby communicating with each other from different rooms at night a bit like the end scene of 'the Walton's ' - when the camera panned out and all you could hear was "night night John boy " et cetera.
@Calgal I've thought about changing sides of the bed After the next op too - I know I'll find it difficult because all my kit is on the left side so I am considering whether I should just try and see if a wall of pillows between me and my man would prevent him touching my leg, to be fair I'm so envious of him because as soon as his head touches the pillow at night he's asleep until morning.
So since Friday I've been keeping myself busy as I have had a feeling of having mild anxiety / nervous energy after the cancellation I suppose. On Friday I joined a gym on a weeks pass and have been swimming every day and intend to continue, I love swimming and used to go frequently before my first surgery, I have use of the gym as well and I'm looking at the bikes thinking "I wonder if I can get on one of those ?" - I used to be a keen cyclist so I might have a word with the trainer when I go in later today.
On Friday night me and the children went 'moon chasing ' to find the best spot to take photographs of the full harvest moon - it was fairly successful, yesterday I went out in the morning to watch and take photographs of 'The Tour of Britain cycling stage ' which was fantastic and I did manage to get some good shots.
I'm currently sat in bed watching morning telly having had breakfast in bed,(decadent!) with an ice pack on my shoulder to help this blooming pain!
This afternoon my mother-in-law and niece are coming round so I think I might Take a leaf out of your book
@ahipgma and bake some cakes maybe Welsh cakes? . And then later I'm going for another swim
I'm back at work this week and after chatting with my manager it's agreed that I'm going to work from home when I want to as travelling to and from and being at my desk for so many hours increased the pain spasm in my right hip.
( maybe dancing wasn't such a great idea last weekend!!)!
If I feel I need to socialise with my colleagues, so to speak ,I'll get my husband to drop me in and drive me home.
So the operation date is no longer the 20th of September, I had a letter yesterday to say it is going to be Wednesday, the 2nd of October . I suppose I'm still on a cancellation list but it won't be this week as I've got a spot on my leg and the surgeon won't operate until it's healed.
They say everything for a reason and I think the reason might be for me to increase my fitness and to get rid of this trapped nerve by having physio and traction so I can lift myself around afterwards -
Also to be there to support my friend and her daughters as they are having a terribly tough time in their grief in these early days
Well then I better get up and go and start weighing out those ingredients.!
I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday and in our LA world (which ,by the way ,totally amuses my children )
I enjoyed our breakfast at the Tiago coffee bar and kitchen, that extra espresso shot really help me shake off the tiredness after getting in at 05 30 following last night's partying antics!!
Who knew there'd be a welcoming party for the hipster sisters? It was so kind of the 'hipperati' to invite us and slightly witty of them them to have us perform at the Cupcake Cabaret Theatre! An epic performance indeed !
I look forward to our Sunday visit of culture to the Getty centre and then a gentle stroll to pick up those luxuries before we come tonight
