    Hi

I was due to have a LTHR on 23rd Jan 2019. After taking the preload drink early that morning and arriving at the hospital with my little packed bag, the anaesthetist detected a heart murmur. To say I was shocked was an understatement. I was more upset about not getting my hip done.

Home I went downhearted after booking in via my G.P for an echocardiogram. It was a three week wait before the scan and then results came back. They were normal!!! No recorded heart problems at all yippee!!

So I am having my left THR on the 14th May 2019. I had my right THR 3 years ago now and have been having such severe pain on this Left side for about a year and half. Cannot wait to be free of pain.

Trying to sleep worrying about my heart and with hip pain is no fun at all!

So happy to see you back with a surgery date! I thought of you often in my last days and even minutes before surgery.
I'll be thinking of you again now, hoping these next couple of weeks fly by for you!

@Bionic thank you that is so kind of you and yes I do know what to expect which can be scary at times but it is an unnecessary worry! All my best wishes to you too!

@Carriemay60 thank you so much for thinking of me! I am so glad I don’t have to research heart problem sceneries and outcomes ‘just incase’ worrying makes you strange somtimes and I even started to take one aspirin a day. I am blessed to have had the all clear and look forward to being post op too yippee! :yes!:

    Hi @SEA Welcome back!
So sorry to hear about the last minute cancelation in January.
With the pre-op anxiety that often goes with surgery....only to be sent home...I can't even imagine!
The best news is your heart is good.
Wishing you comfort as you wait out these final days before surgery. :console2:

@SEA I remember you - welcome back! Yes, having gone through some major heart issues not long ago I can indeed confirm it's all very worrying. Glad everything is sorted now and that you can get on with getting that second hip. Not long before you join the double hippie club!
