Less than 2 days, am a bundle of nerves. My main concern is I'll have arthrofibrosis as for the first time. But I have some trepidation about being put under. I once as a paramedic called a medical helicopter for a woman who'd been in a car accident. She was talking but her face was gray. The flight medics put her under and inserted an endotracheal tube. She had a torn aorta and rushed to surgery where she died. It haunts me that she didn't realize she'd never wake up again. OK, enough about that. Soon as they give me the first sedative on Wednesday, I'll be good.

You will be fine, you are in good hands at HSS. Looking forward to your post op posts.
@skigirl was concerned about the return of arthrofibrosis after her spacer exchange. Her surgeon wanted her to lay low the first few weeks, avoiding irritation and inflammation.

Not going to HSS. Going to Massachusetts General. Am having a spinal, will stay a day or two and then make the 6 hours trip back to Maine! In home nursing/PT. Have lined up the tools that got me through arthrofibrosis before: a CPM and a large exercise ball (easy to do gentle knee bends while sitting on it).

Opps sorry, mixed up the hospitals.
    Both are good choices.

mary, we have spoken before about surgery to get rid of adhesions. Gentle is the recovery process but I trust that you know that quite well as well. I am glad that you are moving forward. I love living a life where I don't think about my knees---except when i am flat on my back on the ground and i know there is going to be some scrambling before I get up!!!
