HI Everyone
I got my xrays back that i had taken back in March and they are on a CD disc. There are 4 pictures of my replacement knee and 4 pictures of my right knee and on that knee it looks like i am bone on bone but not going to worry about that right now. On my replacement the top part looks ok but on the botton i have a question and since i dont see the new doctor until May 18 maybe someone can answer it for me
I had a Zimmer Gender....and on the Stemmed Tibial Plate , on the botton there is an gap and on top of the gap is the stem
This is so hard to explain it would be easier if i could show you this xray!!!!
should the botton of the stem be in that drilled hole?
Or cant you see the cement on the xray?

Bone cement can be seen on an xray but you have to know what you're looking for.

The easiest way to post an xray is first to stick it on a window with as much light behind it as possible. Then take a photo. Please make as sure as you can that the camera is focussed on the xray and not something beyond! Then just treat it like any other photo. ok?

Hi Josephine, my x-rays are on computer cd-rom drive so when on it shows the images up on my screen, is there a way to put the cd-drive on here so you can see? As far as the cement i can see it on the sides but not on the botton where there is that gap.

You should be able to go to the directory file for the disc and locate each of your images by file name. Then you can upload them using tinypic.com or photo bucket just like any other photo.....when you browse, you just go to the disc drive where your CD is instead of your hard drive. Does this make sense to you???

I never knew that, Jamie! I took a screen shot of my xrays (Shift+PrtSc), then pasted that into a new page in my image editor (Crtl+N, Ctrl+V) and then cropped the xray out and saved it as a .jpeg image. It's easier than it looks when written down.

I must be doing something wrong because its telling me that this file cant be copy ,will keep on trying i would love for you to see theses xrays. Only 3 more days until i see this new doctor,I do have a list of questions but is there a question that you would want me to ask?

No, you can't copy it in the usual manner which is why suggested a screen shot. Do you understand my instructions in post 6? If not, I can write them out in more detail for you.

The only question that comes to my mind is has he any idea of the identity of the foreign body?

Sorry i did try and i am not computer smart it kepts on saying it cant be copy.I may be doing it wrong.
I will ask the doc about that question.

Hi , I am not computery (lol) either... I did sleep about 4 hrs again . I am actually getting better . How are you doing. Did you get all your running around done ? Whos anniversary.............Kim

Somewhere up in the top right hand corner of your keyboard is a key that says "PrintScrn" or something very similar.

Get the image you want displayed on your computer.
Push the "PrintScrn" button on your keyboard.

Go to your "Programs" ( usually if you click on the "Start" in the bottom left corner of your display), Then click on "Accessories", and then on "Paint".

When the "Paint" program loads up, just push the "CTRL" and the "V" keys at the same time. This will display the image that you were looking at earlier, of your knee.

Then push on the "CTRL" and "S" keys, to Save the image, and choose the option to save it as a .jpg file. Remember where you saved it to.

Now you have your image as a jpeg and you can use photo sharing software to post it.

Well I never! I never knew about Paint, Gringo. Shall have to play around with that.

Hey Lady !! How are ya today. Just checking in . Did you go to the party ? Hope you are having a good pain free day.......Talk soon.....Kim

That was the simplest way I could think of for someone who doesn't use graphics software to be able to just grab an image off their screen, and convert it to a jpeg.

Paint is a fun little program. You can do some very basic stuff with it. It's most useful for sketching things you want to show people. But the ability to use it to save images as jpegs is probably one of the most useful things.

I see I said to use Ctrl S to save the image, and to then specify .jpg. But it might make more sense to click the "Save As" choice under "File" ( in the menu) and then name the image and choose the .jpg. If you just hit Ctrl S it will save it under whatever name it already has, I think.

But a little trial and error there should work.

This forum is a fount of information in all sorts of different ways, isn't it! I'll have to try your suggestions out too, Gringo. Many thanks for that.

Thanks everyone,I will try tomorrow to get thoses x-rays up before i hand them over to this new doctor. The past couple of days the pain in my knee is getting to the point of.... would like to screem.... its more at in the night boy does it wake me up it feels like someone is pounding a hammer thats what wakes me up and at the same time it feels like pins and needles and numb, lets just say it gets me out of bed a couple times at night.
I do have a question, when i see this new doctor should i ask that this problem is something that my old os did?
And if he says yes then is it time to see my laywer? that question i wouldnt ask the doctor.
Kim, it was a birthday party we when to on saturday,it was nice but i need to get up and walk every so offen, now on tue. we are going out for a annviersary dinner, now i hope i can sit for a hour for that one. Hope you are well. talk soon,Peggy

Only my opinion, if he says it is, and was negligent, then I would. I didnt know you were in pain, Im sorry. Glad the party was ok, but yes you need to take care of yourself maybe relax tonight. Please let us know what he says. Do everything you know you are supposed to tonight, ice etc...Take care and try to get some sleep tonight.........Kim

Your new doctor will not tell you if he thinks it was the other doctors
fault. It would put him in a legal position that he will not want.

I would not ask him, it may make him thinkg that you will sue him for malpractice.

Hope you checked out the new doctor. Also, hope he can help
you real soon.

No, they won't say. The most they'll do is hedge around the subject which should tell you something.
