Hi guys,

I'm extremely new to this site. I'm going for a Total Hip Replacement using the MAKOplasty in October in Bangkok. Has anyone had this particular procedure? and what are the limitations put on the hip.

@Swiftelf Welcome to BoneSmart! There are a few members in the knee area who have had MAKOplasty surgery - but not so many in the hip side. My understanding is that this is robotic assisted surgery.

Restrictions post surgery vary according to surgeon. Some surgeons put no restrictions on their post op patients. Others impose restrictions for life. You should have a discussion with your surgeon about any limits you may have post THR.

What do you actually mean by 'limitations'? What are you referring to?

We've actually had a few hippies have Mako hip surgery but it's not magic science. It's just a tool the surgeon uses in the pursuance of his surgery. It guarantees nothing beyond the surgeon's expertise.
